Enlarged lymph node: Lymph nodes can enlarge for many reasons, most commonly related to infectious or inflammatory reasons. Usually these are not fixed, and will wane over time. A node that remains enlarged , becomes fixed, and is not tender is concerning for cancer, particularly if it lasts longer than a few months. See your PCP: Lymph nodes can get enlarged for a few reasons, and some of which are benign and possibly a result of an infection. Enlarged neck nodes do however need to be properly examined in addition to any other symptoms like night sweats, fevers, and weight loss. This requires a proper workup by your primary care provider. Could be either: Sle and sjögren's syndrome can both cause enlarged lymph nodes. These diseases also can increase the risk of lymphoma - a type of cancer which can also cause these lymph nodes to swell. It is also possible that your swollen lymph nodes are due to sinus problems, an infection, or something unrelated to your autoimmune disease.
