No: If you are doing this to prevent or control wax build up in the external ear canals, debrox will eventually produce an irritation and even inflammation of the skin of the ear canal. Wax is important to have and it is protective against bacteria and fungus. Use it longer: Although i never recommend debrox, I do not think that using it once is going to give you much help. First, are you sure you have much wax in your ear canal that requires you to use anything? If you have a hearing loss and think that wax is blocking your ear, i certainly would have this confirmed by an ENT doctor who not only can confirm wax but can safely remove this blockage. ...Read more

Debrox is an otc that can dissolve ear wax. It won't help otitis media as it only goes to the outer ear. In fact, if it gets in the middle ear it will cause significant pain.
On a side note, hydrogen peroxide works as well as debrox but is much cheaper.

Ear wax stuck in ear? I took a shower last night and i still have some sort of water/wax buildup impairing my hearing in my left ear. I tried dropping rubbing alcohol in it and using an expired tube of debrox, but no luck, yet also no physical pain.

If you using this medication daily, the ear canal skin, and outer layer of the ear drum can become inflamed.
