Dealing With Depression (Overview)

Dealing with depression is a common experience. Depression affects about 17% of Americans sometime in their lifetime. Treatment include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), anti-depressants, and electroconvulsive therapy. CBT, which teaches patients to evaluate and change counter-productive patterns of thinking (cognitions) and behaviors, has shown to be the most effective form of psychotherapy.

Inactive for hours: It is difficult to do anything if you are depressed. Think about setting small goals. Just 1 push up may lead to a few more. Anyone can do one push up. Resolve to walk down the block and back. That's not so difficult. You can do it. Pretty soon you will be walking more blocks. Hope this helps:) ...Read more
