You will: Be asleep. The doctor will carefully insert a long tube with a lens at the end that allows him to see, and a tiny forceps that takes biopsies the size of a pencil tip. Conscious sedation: Is safer and relaxes you so you do not remember the the procedure. You are in a twilight type sleep during the procedure so it is fine with anxiety. ...Read more

Most likely: If you have a significant perforation in your colon, that will spill your colon contents "usually stool" into the surrounding cavity which is called peritoneum, that usually triggers severe inflammatory response that might bring down your whole body, i tend to agree with your doctor that if you perforated your colon you'd have been in the hospital by now feeling really sick, .... ...Read more

I suffer from anxiety and panic disorder. Chose twilight instead of propofol for a colonoscopy sedation. Was that the right choice?

I think so, : You will receive versed, a strong anxiolytic that can be given prior and will last after. It will also block any memory of the event. Propofol would put you to sleep but unless you are given something else you would have anxiety otherwise. Propofol also requires special skills to administer also.
