Possibly: If the volume is too loud with head phones or ear buds like an ipod etc. Then you can very definitely damage your hearing esp. High frequency. The volume should never be so loud that it causes you to not hear someone trying to talk to you or that causes ringing in ears immediately afterwards. Rock concerts can be esp. One approach to help: You re-group & figure out what started all this is to tell your primary care doctor about & get checked out for any medical/neurological cause. If none, (s)he'll refer to a psychologist. If you psyched yourself out, you may benefit from hypnotherapy & learning self-hypnosis to psych yourself back in, because your prosocial & coping skills are still there.
