Multiple causes: hot foods and drinks, smoking, allergies, vitamin deficiencies, trauma, just to name a few. However, It is possible that the taste buds are swollen due to an organic underlying cause so it is important to talk to your dentist. Rec.: see general dentist for evaluation and referral if needed. Also drink a lots of fluids and NSAIDs OTC to mange your pain. ...Read more
