I have access to fresh harvested Dead Sea salt, is it as good for soaking pain relief as Epsom salt?
Try The Bucket Test: Salt from the Dead Sea, or any 'salt water' is sodium chloride (NaCl). Epsom 'salt'(ES) is not a salt. It is magnesium sulfate (MgS04). So, you could compare every purported use for ES and try it with salt from the Dead Sea. If the same then I'd bet it's everything but the salts. No: Seborrheic dermatitis responds better to topical anti-fungal or anti-inflammatory agents. Dead sea salt contains certain minerals plus salt but I am not aware that it has any antifungal or antiinflammatory properties I bought some of the Dead Sea skin products while in Israel and found all of them no better than other OTC products although far more expensive. ...Read more
