Enterobius: Some of pinworm larvae may hatch on the anal mucosa, and migrate up the bowel This retroinfection can lead to a heavy parasitic load and autoinfection through the anus-to-mouth route or through retroinfection often requires repeated treatment, at 2-week intervals, in order to remove the infection completely. Cleaning the house is essential and often very difficult. ...Read more

I keep getting pinworms every 2 years from September-October. I usually find 1 and it's dead. I had a bad infection of them many years ago. Y is this?
Your doctor can: A scotch tape test can be done for you. You set your alarm to wake up in the middle of the night (when the pinworms are usually active) and press a piece of scotch tape to your anus. The tape is then stuck to a microscope slide and the laboratory can look for pinworm eggs. A stool sample for ova and parasites is not as good a way to diagnose. Some just do presumptive tx if exposed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Tiny white specks in stool size of pinhead. What can cause this apart from pinworm? I took mebendezanole previously no symptoms. What other parasite??
