I don't have any money I'm addicted to painkillers opioids I've searched and it seems like without money my fate is sealed?
Withdrawal: Let me understand this correctly: you have $ to buy narcotic medicine, but no $ for medical care and detox?. I suggest one of 2 things: go to your local Health Dept. and see if they have an alternative detox or...go through withdrawal with the help of prescription medication. Only YOU can seal your fate. ...Read more
Why do antihistamines make me have severe anger? The pills only contain the antihistamine...Nothing else..They do not contain pseudoephedrine.
Yes: I know this online forum is here to answer questions but i think it's also imperative that patients tell their physicians everything they're taking. And buy all their medications from same pharmacy so pharmacist can look for interactions too (doc should do so too). And in this day & age, patients have same access to drug interaction database as physicians. Yes, vicodin & Ibuprofen can be taken tog. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been on norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 7.5 for 20 mos, is there anything else that can be given that will kill pain better n last longer? These don't work like they did
Started flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) 2day have daily meds all things on list n profile besides amitriptyline aint but very rarely n same thing with hydro anything need no?
6yrs Vicodin 5/325. I take 1/2tab q 2 hrs. Wether pain or not. NEVER exceed more than 3 1/2 tabs qday. BUT does this mean I'm addicted?
Drug attenuation: I do not know that you can be considered an addict at this point with the info you provided. Taking ANY narcotic when you do not have pain is a mistake and sets you up for drug side effects and perhaps addiction. A physician prescribing narcotics to you if he/she knows how you are taking med would +/- be on thin ice! 3 1/2 Vicodin 5 is not a huge dose, but!! U need to wean off--see ur Doctor. ...Read more

I have chiari type i, surgery soon. Percoset 10mgx4/day wasn't enough. Insurance denied oxycontin. Now trying morphine ER 15mgx2day, but not enough. ?
Underdosed: If 40 mg of Percocet was not enough then a starting dose of MS contin (morphine) of 30 mg per day is way to low. A proper conversion (equal analgesic dose) would be 60 mg of MS contin (morphine). Even that may be low, but your doctor could then titrate your dose up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

20 years ago. Managed my pain for years with Darvon which is no longer manufactured. Need alternatives?
Darvon: is a mu-opioid receptor agonist similar to codeine and oxycodone. Most of time, opioid medications are poor or ineffective at managing chronic pain. That is great if you were able to successfully manage the discomfort for so many years. Speak with your primary doctor about appropriate alternatives. ...Read more

Not sure why the ?: since propoxyphene has not been available legally in the United States for about 10 years now. It was taken off the market for 2 major reasons. One was that it simply didn't work. Codeine DOES work. Numerous studies showed that darvon compounds only worked because of the other things in them (aspirin, tylenol (acetaminophen) etc.) and that darvon alone was a placebo. Secondly, it had cardiac effects. ...Read more
How much time does it take for acetaminophen and propoxyphene napsylate 650 mg / 100 mg. pills to leave your system?
Depends on what you: are really asking. Firstly, darvon isn't even available legally in this country, mainly because it 1) doesn't work and is essentially a placebo and 2) it caused a number of heart rhythm problems. It can however cause overdose and addiction. I don't even know if it is tested for in most testing kits. It is a short-acting drug but its metabolites stick around and can be detected for 2-4 days. ...Read more

I've been going through a miscarriage this week & today I passed the embryo & sac. This has been an emotional, mental & physical time and to top it off, i've had terrible diarrhoea . Is this normal or could I have an infection?
Sorry for your loss: I feel for what you are going through... Usually a uterine infection doesn't cause diarrhea & the only connection i can make is if you were given a medication to help complete your miscarriage (cytotec=misoprostil, prostin, etc). These medications can cause GI symptoms such as severe nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Keep up on your fluids, Ibuprofen for cramps, & call your doc for fevers or pain. ...Read more
