Can be normal if...: This can be normal as long as the stools are not described as black and tarry in appearance (as this could indicate a slow bleed from the gastrointestinal tract). If constipation does not resolve or is accompanied by abdominal pain, lack of appetite, fever, or distention (swollen belly), then a follow up with the Gastroenterologist would be warranted. ...Read more

Dark stool?: Is it normal to have dark stool 1 week after gallbladder surgery ? ANS: Not sure what "dark" means in Simi Valley lingo. So if ur stools were light or even white then your gall was not getting into your gut from your gall bladder (stones)- which is what makes it brown. If dark means black then it is not normal and suggests bleeding high up in gut. If dark red then lower. Have Dr translate. ...Read more

Many discomforts: may occur during a colonoscopy prep. It is not a pleasant thing to go through. The pain in the area of your kidney, was more likely originating from the colon which underlies the kidneys. The brown diarrhea after eating is probably due to irritation of your colon by the prep and the test. Drink clear liquids and a BRAT diet to help your colon recover. ...Read more

Micro hematuria: Microhematuria in a 34 year-old female who has never smoked is not very likely to be due to bladder cancer. Bladder cancer is not really genetic in nature.
