Brown spot on bottom of foot, what is this?

Pigmented lesions: Any new pigmented skin lesion anywhere on your foot should be looked at by your podiatrist or dermatologist to see if a biopsy is needed.

If the brown spot has been there for many years time without any changes, it is probably benign. However, your podiatrist or dermatologist should evaluate this at some point anyway. ...Read more

I had a callus at the top of my foot, it was tough skin and kind of dark. Started apllying corn and callus remover, now its gone but there's a red spot?

Irritation: It is likely that the redness you see is residual irritation from the corn/callus remover. Protect the skin from the sun. Melanoma: Dark irregular spots that arise out of no where, you have to rule out melanoma or skin cancer. Go see a podiatrist or dermatologist have them do a biopsy of the lesion. They can also tell if it's fungus or a spider bite or eczema, an allergic reaction. Don't delay especially if the dark spot is getting more aggressive looking. ...Read more

I have small white dots of skin on bottom of my foot in multiple spots. Dots have small holes, and holes aren't deep. It's not painful. What is it?

Athlete's foot: Is the first thing I would suspect. The fungi eat skin, and can leave holes. Tinea pedis (to sound nerdy) is easily fixed with a topical anti fungal, such as tolnaftate. Go for the generics, they're cheaper.

Have you changed what your feet see? Walking on hot sand barefoot? New flip flops? If there's anything new, try changing back.

If these don't work, and the problem persists, see a doctor. ...Read more

Black tiny spot on my small toenail. I cut the nail portion off and dark spot came off with the nail. But left a pinkish wound on the skin. Wat is it?

Open vs closed sore: Somehow the skin was injured. It bled and that is why the nail had a dark spot. It was just blood. If the pink spot is still draining, you have a small ulcer that needs topical antibiotic and band aid. If there is no drainage, it is new skin and healing. ...Read more

Trimmed toenails-noticed dark grey raised spot next to big toenail-slight pain, think it was ingrown nail. Trimmed off spot of skin, it bled a bit, blood went deep, and a tiny bit of clear liquid (pus?). Cleaned w/isop. Alcohol + bandaid. Infected?

Probably: It does sound like an ingrown toenail, which usually does involve infection. The corner of the nail grows into the skin edge and burrows in causing infection. If it is mild, you can sometimes keep the nail edge elevated out of the skin and it can grow past the area. If that does not work, probably would be good to be seen. ...Read more
