Had impetigo and used mupirocin2% three weeks ago. Left with redness and lower lip is itchy but no signs of blisters. Is it back?

Had impetigo and used mupirocin2% three weeks ago. Left with redness and lower lip is itchy but no signs of blisters. Is it back?

Cold sores are caused by viruses (mupirocin doesn't work on those viruses). ...Read more

See a dermatologist: Without more information, it's hard to guide you. Sometimes blisters on the lips can be mistaken for other problems and blamed on HSV. HSV viral life cycle is 14 days.
