Dark Green Stool In Breastfed Baby
4wk old /c bright green mucuousy pooh, about a tbsp. Breastfeed, normally have mustard yellow stool. No temp , baby feeding well. Concern?
5w newborn has 1-2 bowel movements/day supplemented with breastmmilk, sometimes seedy yellow sometimes yellow green and clay. Baby strains and cries.
Baby poop: can be many different colors naturally and this is not usually a sign of any problem. In breastfed babies anything that the mother consumes can affect the baby's poop. As long as your baby otherwise appears well, and is well hydrated, this is not usually a reason for concern. Signs of dehydration in a baby as illustrated, are reason for medical attention. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Recently started supplementing formula for a breastfed 13 week old. Dark green specks in normal yellow bf poo now. Poop seems more mucousy too.Normal?
My 3 month old sons poop has turned dark brown with white chunks in it. He is formula fed enfamil with baby oatmeal in it. His stools have increased?
Brown is OK!: Baby poop is lots of different colors and can change from day to day for any baby. One day brown, one day yellow, one green. The worrisome colors are dark black after the first few days of life (cuz your first poop is blackish meconium), red poop or pure white poop. I suppose purple would be weird too! as his digestive tract matures, consistency will also vary. And yes, baby poop stinks! ...Read more
2 mo old baby passes lots smelly farts. Poop mustard yellow, smelly. Sometimes in pain. Formula and breast fed. Tried ovol, gripe, massage. Concern?
Baby poop: What you are describing all sounds very normal. The poop is a reflection of the bacteria in the baby's gut as well as your diet (as you are sometimes breast feeding). Babies often cry when trying to have bowel movements - it's a new thing for them and they have to learn how to relax a sphincter and at the same time are bearing down to push the stool out - they get frustrated/cry - it gets better ...Read more
4months old baby passing stool in green colour and foam like consistency,4times aday .Is it normal?
Stools in 4mo old: Green stools in a 4 mo old, 4 times a day can be pretty normal. Especially if you are starting to introduce new foods or if the baby is on medication. The consistency can change too from pasty to more formed (like adults-they can smell just as bad too). Beware though! If you see blood in the stools see your child's pediatrician. ...Read more

Eight month old. Constipation, fussy, little bit of yellow in eyes and now yellow seedy runny stool?
More info: Seedy stools are typical of breast fed babies. Are you breastfeeding? Yellow in the eyes is also known as jaundice and can occur in breast fed babies, but is not typical for this age. Fussiness and constipation are not unusual either. Recommend you have your baby evaluated by his/her pediatrician, especially since you are noticing a yellow color to the eyes. ...Read more

2yr old has dark green diarrhea both thick/watery with bright green mucus, after food poisoning from undercooked hamburger.
Diarrhea: When red meat is not cooked properly or is kept in the refrigerated condition for a long time, the possibility of diarrhea increases manifold. Consumption of red meat that is infected with a bacterium called Escherichia coli is one of the most common causes of food poisoning. Maybe he should get a stool culture. Keep him well hydrated and if there is fever, and diarrhea continues go to the ER. ...Read more
3 month old pooping once a day dark green being formula fed along with breastfeeding is this normal?
My baby is 1 month age. I use fumula feeding no breastfed. Now he has stool around 10 time a day.But his stool is yellow and dark green colour.
Probably fine: I would not be worried about this kind of regular stooling pattern at this age as long as the child appears normal otherwise, is active &feeding well, growing normally and is receiving an approved baby formula, prepared or diluted properly. The baby's digestive system is still getting used to the child's new environment outsdide the uterus. Anything else seems amiss? Do check promptly with your md. ...Read more
