Infant feeding: Lentil is an excellent source of fiber and nutritious as well. It is harder to digest especially by a 4 mo. Current thinking is to start solid foods that are nutritious and easy to digest. Cereal is not necessarily the first food to give now. It has been found that meat and /or vegetables are good to start with especially when baby is breastfed. The lentil caused the way her stools came out. ...Read more

Yes: Human breast milk indeed is nutritionally complete - provided the mother is complete - if the mother has an adequate blood level of vitamin d so will her milk. Simply put - if she is a breastfeeding lifeguard who doesn't use sunscreen - her milk is perfect. If she stays inside - an oral supplement of at least 5000iu will provide adequate levels in her milk. ...Read more

Probably fine: I would not be worried about this kind of regular stooling pattern at this age as long as the child appears normal otherwise, is active &feeding well, growing normally and is receiving an approved baby formula, prepared or diluted properly. The baby's digestive system is still getting used to the child's new environment outsdide the uterus. Anything else seems amiss? Do check promptly with your md. ...Read more
