Good Skin Care: Some people have a tendency to deposit pigment into their skin. This is usually combination of genetics and sun damage. Use a physical sun block (with zinc or titanium) every day. Wear hats when you are out in the sun for a period of time. To get rid of the pigment that has already formed you should see a cosmetic physician. There you will probably get Retin-A and hydroquinone which will help. ...Read more

I'd urge you not to: If you use a freckle remover, even from a dermatologist, you risk disfiguring yourself. Laser?: A dermatologist can confirm whether this is a pigmented lesion that's worrisome and requires something special (i.e., a lentigo maligna), or whether it can be lasered off (don't expect complete success). If it's not a cancer risk, it's your choice to try removal or leave it alone -- the decision is personal. ...Read more
Stay out of sun: Typically, our skin darkens temporarily in response to sun exposure. If you spend a lot of time outdoors with shirt & pants on, it's possible for face to get darker than rest of body. The solution is to get out of the sun or to apply sun block to face. However, if non-sun exposed areas are also getting darker, we worry about addison's disease (but not other causes of adrenal insufficiency). ...Read more

Sunscreen: Use a sunscreen on your face. Beyond this, i hope you will not try to lighten your skin. These agents are likely to disfigure you in the long run. Sunblock moisturizer: Many people use over-the-counter moisturizers that contain sunscreen. Avoiding exposure to the sun will let skin lighten up.
