Probably pinworms, : maybe another type of worms. See his pediatrician for evaluation. Early in the morning, spread his buttocks & press the sticky side of a piece of scotch tape against his anus. Put the tape in a small plastic bag & take it with you to the appointment so it can be checked for pinworm eggs. I've had dark black feces. No iron pills no bismuth. , and the ER Dr took no stool sample. Just inserted a finger to test for blood. Second opinion?

Normal stool: Fasting during Ramzan makes most Muslims consume foods which is not part if their daily staple. With many such foods, rich in calories, sugars etc, the BMs don't look the same.
