I have iron deficiency and lack of vitaminb12 last time i checked blood count results was 10, I have low red and white blood cells. Help?

This is serious: If you are truly B12 deficient (there are some crooked labs), you need to find the cause, and also an explanation for the lack of iron in your blood (poor diet, blood loss from periods, into gut, etc). I hope that if you are a vegetarian, you are taking appropriate supplements so as not to ruin your health. Please let your physician give you a complete workup, and also seek other possible causes. ...Read more

Why am i constantly lightheaded? I have had blood work done, the only thing that came back was high white blood cell count.

Not enough: Information available to say with any certainty. "light-headedness" needs to be characterized more clearly and the individual examined closely. At your age one would not expect significant laboratory abnormalities and so the diagnosis would be based more on clinical grounds. You may want to consult an otolaryngologist. ...Read more

What does it mean if you haven't had a period in months, but this month you've had spotting and bleeding and now huge dark red blood clots?

Probable PCOS: Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome have long periods of amenorrhea , then may have prolonged spotting and heavy erratic bleeding. This may especially be the case if one is overweight, has greasy skin and or acne with unwanted facial hair. If this is an occasional occurrence may also be stress related and not due to pcos. Exclude pregnancy, other hormone disorders, and medication side-effects. ...Read more

Hello im 27 female. My blood test showed that my red blood cells have decreased. What shall I do to increase my red blood cells? What food shall I eat?

Anemia: A low red blood cell count is known as anemia. Anemia is a symptom, not a disease and thus the cause of anemia must be investigated. While being investigated, one should increase the iron in one's diet. This can be done with iron tablets, or by eating foods rich in iron. This would include red meat, spinach, and beans. ...Read more

Why would I bleed very heavy with big blood clots , change pad every half hou, I had my iron and thyroid checked its fine what could it be?

Need evaluation: Heavy bleeding (menorrhagia) that you describe can be constitutional ie. No physical cause, but could be something organic like fibroids, polyps etc. You need an examination which may need to include ultrasound, sonohysterogram. If nothing is found management would depend on your age and desire for future fertility. Could be controlled with birth control pills, Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud or lysteda, ablation. ...Read more

I had anHSG on Friday. That same day I passed blood clots.. next day i barely spotted.Sunday i wake up and wipe fresh bright red blood. Normal or No?

HSG: post bleeding: An HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a fluoroscopic picture of your womb using radio-opague dye to outline your tubes. To perform this, a clamp is attached to your cervix, and this can cause bleeding post procedure (clots may be seen). "Sunday" some residual blood may emerge, which is from the same source. This may be normal, but if it continues, see your healthcare provider for a re-exam. ...Read more

I had a blood test a few months ago and blood cell count was normal but on the lower side so my dr gave me iron tablets and now my blood tests are excellent how do i maintain good iron levels?

Were you anemic?: Do you have heavy periods> Were you iron deficient? Some people require iron supplements but most get by with good sources of bioavailable iron, mostly meats, unless they have a cause for iron loss, i.e. gi bleed, woman with heavy menses, exfoliative dermatitis, etc. First confirm it is indeed iron deficiency, secondly treat appropriately. ...Read more
