Yes: Clove cigarettes, or kreteks, are made with a combination of tobacco, cloves and other herbs. Are clove cigars just as harmful as a regular pack of cigarettes? My fiancé doesn't seem to think so but I think he is ignorant.
Smoking djarum clove cigars, how bad is it? I smoke about 6 to 8 a day. They are the same size as a regular cigarette
They are terrible: Cloves have at least twice the amount of toxic "tars" as tobacco, carry more carbon monoxide into the body, and have a specific chemical called eugenol which is especially damaging to lungs. They are not a healthier alternative to tobacco, even though they do not have nicotine. However, they are less "addicting" and easier to quit than tobacco, and that is exactly what you should do! ...Read more

I ate a clove of raw chopped garlic a few hours ago and my stomach has been burning terribly since. Is this dangerous?
The Breath That Kill: It will only be dangerous if you breathe in someone else's face. Take some antacid and chill for a while. You may have some garlic burps but don't worry. Then think twice about chomping down on those highly concentrated herbs, etc. If for "health" reasons, knock yourself out (so to speak) but start small and build-up to a reasonable amount. ...Read more

Yes: In different ways than cigarette smoking. Cigarettes can cause oral, pharyngeal or lung cancer, since the smoke is inhaled into the lungs. Pipe smokers typically don't inhale into the lungs, just the mouth, so they are at risk for oral cancer. Any tobacco product puts the user at increased risk for cancer. ...Read more
