2 months: Allow your body to heal. Give yourself 2months. At 40, the risk of another turner's is nominal. The risk of any chromosomal problem is 1/100. Check with your provider for more information and advice.

Pregnancy 15 week, ultrasound report., . Turner syndrome with cystic hygroma and hydrops fetalis....., your advise required?

Your decision: In the end. These findings in the first trimester usually carry a poor outlook for survival of the baby but there have been many reports of resolution of both cystic hygroma and hydrops as pregnancy progresses. Turner syndrome will always be there. I cannot decide for you but suggest you consider re-evaluating by ultrasound in 3-4 weeks should you decide to continue the pregnancy, you will then know more about the prognosis for the baby and any associated problems such as congenital heart defect etc. See:http://www. My aunt has cystic hygroma but doctors won't operate on her because she has a rare case of it. What can we do?

Rare meaning what?: Cystic hygroma is a well known benign entity that is commonly found in the neck as a single mass but may occur as several smaller sites in different locations. In trained hands many can be partly or completely removed but the location & nearby structures may make surgery risky. Try to find out if this is the case & pursue a second opinion if you desire.

What are the symptoms of cystic hygroma?

It depends.: Many cases of this are found in utero, or after birth, so often there are no symptoms, just the sign of a swelling in the neck by the posterior triangle at or after birth. Some can be large and can affect breathing and swallowing. They can resolve, but if they are large, they need to be drained. In any case, these patients need to be in a neonatal center capable of monitoring and treating them.

Does a cystic hygroma mean retardation for the baby if it is born>?

Not necessarily: Cystic hygroma is a congenital condition that can have a wide range of consequences. These are mainly anatomic and can be mild to severe. Can be surgically resolved but they can be severe and require significant intervention and may recur later. It can be associated with other syndromes that have more significant problems ie. Turners syndrome but not necessarily. Genetic counseling is recommended.
