Cyst Under Tooth
Hi, is it normal to be spitting blood after extraction of impacted wisdom tooth@cyst under general anesthetic 4days later, thanks x?
Depends... : It really depends how much blood. If it's just a small amount, it can appear to be a lot when it mixes with the saliva. It will generally be pinkish to red, but should not be a great amount. If your mouth is filling up with dark or bright red old and you cannot stop this with pressure you should be seen by your surgeon right away. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Dentigerous cyst: When a tooth has not erupted into your mouth it has a 'sac' around it. If it does not erupt, there is a chance that the sac will enlarge. If it is sufficiently large, it will be classified as a cyst. It is usually called a dentigerous cyst. The cyst may undergo transformation into a tumor or in extreme case cancerous lesion. It is advisable to have the cyst checked with your dentist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Not unusual: This is not that unusual but if the area is throbbing or you have fever or the chills a visit to the surgeon may be indicated to check for infection. Warm salt water rinses and more healing time might help as well. If there are stitches they can be an irritant until removed. Time heals all wounds, but not in the presence of infection! good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Thanks 4 answering my question, 4got to say, how long can an infection from a cyst or impacted wisdom tooth go on for, had my pain now on and of 3yrs?
A long time!: A cyst, unless removed, will usually continue to grow. Also, an infection that goes untreated may continue to persist. If you are having pain that persists, it is recommended that you seek the advice of a dentist or oral surgeon, who can take the proper type of x-ray to view the area of your wisdom tooth to locate any potential problems/cysts/ or infections. Not removing my wisdom teeth now I have a cyst and now going through my 3rd surgery? Should i remove that wisdom tooth?
I would: If i understand your question correctly you are asking whether or not to remove a wisdom tooth that is associated with a cyst. If that is the case then i would definitely remove the tooth and the cyst around it. These cysts can grow and destroy the jaw bone around them over time. I don't know exactly why you had to have two other surgeries to remove your wisdom teeth. It is easier in one. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
