I have severe bilateral lower leg muscle spasms due to synovial cysts at l5s1 causing neuroforaminal stenosis. Is surgery an option?
Maybe: If your cysts are responsible for "nerve pain", and are associated with nerve root distribution numbness, weakness, and/or muscle atrophy, there may be a good rationale for a surgical approach. These days, arthroscopic and less invasive techniques are present. Suggest you visit a neurosurgeon and discuss.
I have a small bump, what feels like a cyst, on the back of my thigh on my hamstring - is that common or could it be something else?
Dermatofibroma: One of several possibilities include a dermatofibroma which is scar tissue from an infection or bite. There are also skin tumours which can be cystic in nature. It is impossible without an examination and possible biopsy to tell what this is? Have it checked.See 2 more doctor answers
I have a small cyst on inner thigh, and its very painful. My mom says they are hereditary. What can I do to make it more comfortable?

My boyfriend gets these hard, cyst looking bumps on his buttocks & thighs. Some are painful. He's 22 6'3 260lbs healthy. What could these be?

I was wondering about a cyst I have on back of my thigh it burst open yesterday and has rancid smelling brown mucus coming out should I be worried?
Possibly Infectious: Most cysts have clear fluid drainage. Without seeing the lesion I would not be able fully tell you. But, from those details it sounds like it could be complicated with a possible infectious etiology considering the color of the discharge and odor. I would recommend seeing your Primary Care Physician and make sure you do not need an antibiotic. If you develop fevers, sooner rather than later.
I have 2 pea sized hard cysts for abt an year, deep under skin on lt upr thigh. Felt just by pressing deep. Not painful. Is it normal? Size not changd
Cyst: These could be simple cysts or lipomas, not of concern if they are unchanged for over a year in the thigh. However, if they are in the groin crease above the thigh then they could be lymph nodes and should be examined by a doctor.
Had hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. During exam found out I have a ruptured cyst, how long does the pain last & is it normal to have pain in thighs as well?
Ruptured cyst: I am assuming this is a ruptured ovarian cyst from an ovary (s) that were left post hysterectomy. The fluid from the cyst can irritate the peritoneum (lining of the inside body cavity) that can cause pelvic pain. Radiating nerve pain to the tops of the thighs have also been know to occur but is short lived. Have your GYN MD do a pelvic ultrasound to see if the cyst is still there or something else.

What can I do about cyst that grow in and around the inside of my thighs and vaginal area? I have suffered with this problem for over 12 years now. I need answers to what causes this condition and how to treat and or prevent it from happening again.
You: You may have hidradenitis suppurativa, which is a condition where one gets cysts and boils in the groin, armpits, and gluteal crease. It is a chronic and recurrent condition that can be quite painful at times. There are many options including antibiotic creams/gels, oral antibiotics, accutane, and surgical treatment. Often, draining the lesions can also give some immediate improvement in symptoms. I would recommend you see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options to help improve your situation. I hope that helps!
Well, ..: Numbness is usually associated with some nerve issues (inflammation/pinching, etc.) and if the Pilonidal Cyst is large enough and inflamed to cause some associated nerve root irritation that affects your hip areas, then it could possibly cause some numbness. Get the area treated. Best wishes.
