I have severe bilateral lower leg muscle spasms due to synovial cysts at l5s1 causing neuroforaminal stenosis. Is surgery an option?

I have severe bilateral lower leg muscle spasms due to synovial cysts at l5s1 causing neuroforaminal stenosis. Is surgery an option?

Maybe: If your cysts are responsible for "nerve pain", and are associated with nerve root distribution numbness, weakness, and/or muscle atrophy, there may be a good rationale for a surgical approach. These days, arthroscopic and less invasive techniques are present. Suggest you visit a neurosurgeon and discuss.

Dermatofibroma: One of several possibilities include a dermatofibroma which is scar tissue from an infection or bite. There are also skin tumours which can be cystic in nature. It is impossible without an examination and possible biopsy to tell what this is? Have it checked.

Skin bumps: Likely he has hair follicles that accumulate skin oil. These can swell and become inflamed. Other possibilities include adipose breakdown with scars or fibromas. Perhaps a PCP could take a look

I was wondering about a cyst I have on back of my thigh it burst open yesterday and has rancid smelling brown mucus coming out should I be worried?

Possibly Infectious: Most cysts have clear fluid drainage. Without seeing the lesion I would not be able fully tell you. But, from those details it sounds like it could be complicated with a possible infectious etiology considering the color of the discharge and odor. I would recommend seeing your Primary Care Physician and make sure you do not need an antibiotic. If you develop fevers, sooner rather than later.

Cyst: These could be simple cysts or lipomas, not of concern if they are unchanged for over a year in the thigh. However, if they are in the groin crease above the thigh then they could be lymph nodes and should be examined by a doctor.

Had hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. During exam found out I have a ruptured cyst, how long does the pain last & is it normal to have pain in thighs as well?

Ruptured cyst: I am assuming this is a ruptured ovarian cyst from an ovary (s) that were left post hysterectomy. The fluid from the cyst can irritate the peritoneum (lining of the inside body cavity) that can cause pelvic pain. Radiating nerve pain to the tops of the thighs have also been know to occur but is short lived. Have your GYN MD do a pelvic ultrasound to see if the cyst is still there or something else.

? infected cyst: I would see a primary care physician or dermatology just to see if you have an infected cyst. You may need antibiotics or it may need to be drained. Another possibility is a type of fatty tumor known as an angio lipoma which can be painful.

My husband has a cyst on the inner thigh. It has drained itself but still has a hard knot. The hole it drained is fairly large. It also had little tiny hairs.

Cyst: Could be not fully drained. Look up loculated cyst. It has many internal compartments. That is a possibility. He should go see his local surgeon and may have to have it drained and packed.

You: You may have hidradenitis suppurativa, which is a condition where one gets cysts and boils in the groin, armpits, and gluteal crease. It is a chronic and recurrent condition that can be quite painful at times. There are many options including antibiotic creams/gels, oral antibiotics, accutane, and surgical treatment. Often, draining the lesions can also give some immediate improvement in symptoms. I would recommend you see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options to help improve your situation. I hope that helps!

I have a pinodial cyst, and the sides of my thighs are feeling numb, is this normal?

I have a pinodial cyst, and the sides of my thighs are feeling numb, is this normal?

Well, ..: Numbness is usually associated with some nerve issues (inflammation/pinching, etc.) and if the Pilonidal Cyst is large enough and inflamed to cause some associated nerve root irritation that affects your hip areas, then it could possibly cause some numbness. Get the area treated. Best wishes.

Its been mentioned to me I might have a bakers cyst. I also have painful non visible lumps in my thighs. Could these be related to the possible bc?

No: Baker's cysts are an extension of the knee joint synovium and occur with excess fluid due to arthritis, injury or other cause. It is not directly related to the lumps in your thighs unless they are part of a systemic disorder that produces arthritis.
