Was told I have ganglion cyst on elbow and to take anti inflammatory meds. To me, that is a temporary solution. My elbow swells and pain in arm... ?

If a lump above the elbow shows by an ultrasound that it is not a cyst then what is it? What will an MRI be able to show?
