The doc is treating you for bipolar issues, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorder. I suggest that you see if this doc or another can put you on a regimen that might help you sleep and still take care of the problem. Lot of medications: I'm not sure whether these are all prescribed by the same physician? It sounds as though your bipolar disorder (from the additional info you supplied) may be quite hard to manage, and meds have been added but none removed. Perhaps you'd benefit from a second opinion about your case and possibly simplify your regimen. It could also be that your symptoms demand high intensity measures. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Yes but: They are two meds of the same class but can feel very different. Abilify (aripiprazole) tends to cause insomnia while Olanzapine is very sedating. Raising the dose of Abilify (aripiprazole) may cause sedation at or above 20mg, reducing the need for olanzapine. Olanzapine has a lot of wt gain and problems with blood sugars and is usually reserved for patients who haven't responded to other agents. ...Read more

Reasonable combo: Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a SNRI for depression, anxiety and pain and Risperdal is a med that helps with agitation, paranoia. A low dose of Risperdal added to antidepressants can boost the antidepressant effects esp as it helps anxiety/agitation. Additional side effects are possible but can be monitored by prescriber. Have tried pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) wellbutrin, paxil, celexa, effexor, lexapro, etc. With lithium, haliperidol &abilify. A couple improve mood. Still anxious!thoughts?
Many meds: You've tried many meds already, although there are some you haven't mentioned that often help anxiety: buspirone, beta-blockers, other mood stabilizers besides lithium, etc. But after a person has tried so many medications and still has symptoms, i'd suggest non-medication approaches: psychotherapy, mindfulness, relaxation training, exercise/yoga, etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Do any of these drug combinations work? Prozac abilify, (aripiprazole) Prozac zyprexa, wellbutrin zyprexa, for schizophrenia.
Probably: Cymbalta (duloxetine) for depression is fine. I find no indication for the use of Naltrexone in depression. If you are referring to just having to use the two at the same time, i find no contraindication for using the two together, ie, no drug to drug interaction. Both drugs are for serious illness and make shure you thoroughly discuss this with your pcp, addiction md, other provider or pharmacist/pharmd. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I was put on cymbalta and Abilify (aripiprazole) for depression, I have also always had severe back pain, my pain had decreased dramatically, should I get MRI still?
Took Abilify to augment Cymbalta for depression/anxiety. But increased Abilify too fast & got akathisia. On top of akathisia, how badly did I shoot myself in the foot? 1)Just akathisia 2)Nullified augmentation or 3)Worse yet, reduced Cymbalta effect?
Skeptical: A healthy dose of questioning is good. The makers of Cymbalta are under fire for deceptive marketing of this medication, though it's definitely helpful for some people and some conditions. Your question poses 3 scenarios associated with Cymbalta Abilify (aripiprazole) combo. It's likely just akathisia which likely diminishes with reduced dose. The augmentation theory is unsound. Reducing Cymb effect unlikely. ...Read more

Wow! Discuss w/ Dr!: That's a lot of medications and each one brings increased effects of the others with a particular concern in the combo of Cymbalta (duloxetine) and buspirone for serotonin syndrome. Definitely discuss the wisdom w/ your provider but DO NOT stop any of these on your own. Do it under monitoring and consider adding a non-pharma psychotherapy strategy that might help you too. Is it safe to take four Abilify (aripiprazole) tablet for depression at once hypothetically speaking
After a year of cymbalta (duloxetine) for depression, I feel like I lost the ability to feel love or get emotional like I used to even before. Why?
Emotional blunting: Or what is referred to selective serotonin reputable indifference may result from long term use of antidepressants. The exact cause is unknown but is thought to result from increased serotonin in the frontal lobes and modulation of dopaminergic systems of the brain - essentially affecting processing/interpretation of emotion and reward.
