Cyclobenzaprine Drug Interactions
Should be safe: I assume you mean pyrigesic or Acetaminophen (tylenol). This is a non-narcotic pain killer, and it should have no difficulty being combined with the muscle relaxant cyclobenzaprine (flexeril). Just stay under 4000mg, and ideally 3000mg, of pyrigesic per day for the health of your liver. ...Read more
No, but...: It will ground you if you have airborne or diving status, and your profile will/should indicate you are on muscle relaxants which may impact safety and keep you from doing your MOS. You may be stuck in the motor pool for a while until you are considered safe by your treating military doctor. Being on a limiting T3 (liothyronine) profile long enough - regardless of reason - will send you straight to the MEB. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Is there any interaction between cyclobenzaprine and mitrazapine or amitryptaline ? Can i take it for my back pain along with these meds ?
I had back pain so bad today I couldn't stand. I took 1 10mg(my dads)cyclobenzaprine tablet Will this cause me to fail a military drug test in 10 days?
Cyclobenzaprine: http://www.rxlist.com/flexeril-drug/clinical-pharmacology.htm Half life is about 18 hours (up to 37 hrs) so by 10 days , you should be through 7-13 half lives so the amount in your blood should be negligible. So would not worry. Do not take any more unless you have a prescription( if you have a valid prescription, then it usually does not cause problems with drug testing). f/u/ w/ doc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
As a tricyclic: Cyclobenzaprine is not chemically similar to benzodiazepines, which include drugs such as xanax, (alprazolam) ativan, valium, and klonopin. There should be no cross reactivity between cyclobenzaprine and benzodiazepines on drug testing. Cyclobenzaprine is chemically similar to tricyclic antidepressants, such as Elavil (amitriptyline). Some panels for substances of abuse do include tests for tricyclics. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Possibly: The rate of drug elimination from the body is called the half life; it is the time for half of the dosage to be eliminated. After two half lives, only 1/4 of the amount will be present. The half life of cyclobenzaprine ranges fro 8 to 37 hours, and is affected by many other medications however, cyclobenzaprine is not a drug of common abuse, and would not likely show up n a drug abuse screen. ...Read more
Hello, i take weekly oral drug tests and they came up clean for years until i was prescribed flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) and now my benzos come back dirty. Why is this?
Not Soma (carisoprodol)?: Soma metabolite can trigger bdzp screen, possible Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) metabolite as well. Need to ask for information on the test used, and method of confirmation / follow-up testing (first usually qualitative, confirmatory quantitative). If no bdzp ingestion, quantitative testing should report negative. ...Read more
Will flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) give you a false positive on a drug test? I have recently been prescribed flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) and took a drug test and i failed it. I do not do drugs and it showed up as THC why is this
Not likely: Most drug tests use a first test, TLC or thin layer chromatography, as an initial screen. This test is prone to cross-reaction or "false positive" results for some substances. Usually if the TLC is positive, a second test, gcms or gas chromatography mass spectroscopy is used to confirm. This test is much more specific for specific molecules and not likely to yield false positive results. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
