Cut my finger half an inch deep. much blood, cant afford stitches. sprayed liquid bandaid on it, cant wash because excrutiating. will it heal and how long???
Finger cut: A hand cut 1/2 deep is pretty substantial, especially if it was on the fingers. You could have damaged a nerve, vessels, or tendons. Though, you state you can't afford an ER visit, I would suggest you still go. Especially if you have any numbness of the fingers or lack full range of motion of all your digits and joints. Probably slows it.: I know of no evidence (or even old wive's tale) of sugar speeding up healing. In fact, excess sugar has been shown to SLOW DOWN healing of cuts & wounds (like in diabetics) b/c blood glucose at ~150 mg/dL starts to impair white blood cell mobility. I cut my perenial raphe accidently while trimming downstairs. It's a small cut but bled a little. Will it heal? I put antiseptic cream on it too.
