She needs to see doc: Just b/c you have hypogonadism doesn't mean that her hormonal health is necessarily correlated w/yours, although we try to take an extensive Family History looking for conditions that tend to run in the family. However, hypogonadism isn't one of them. OTOH Cushingoid appearance w/lack of motivation plus weight gain need to be evaluated by family doc & referred to Endocrinologist as appropriate. ...Read more

Cushingoid face swelling this week. No allergy/infection. Have CSF shunt leak- collect there? Or Afrin (oxymetazoline) strong enough steroid? NSAIDs ineffective. Way to treat?

Cushingoid: Chronic steroid use will cause a Cushing type face. A leaking CSF shunt will lead to a focal swelling under the skin and not around the whole face. Steroid therapy is required when other anti inflammatory medications are not sufficient. Talk to your medical doctor about the best medications for you and ask what are the alternatives. ...Read more
