Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. The nonspecific report verbiage needs to be interpreted in conjunction with the images themselves and your clinical picture. ...Read more

Different things...: It could be related to different problems: a completely benign lesion, tumor, infection, inflammatory nodule( for multiple reasons), lymph nodes which most of the time are benign. If significantly large it might need biopsy but that requires a Pneumologist(Lung doctor) opinion and evaluation in order to decide the next step and inform more about diagnosis. ...Read more

Resolving pneumonia: Do you have an incentive spirometer to encourage deep breathing and expansion of the lung? You can buy them online, even from Amazon or a health supplies store/site.
