Ct Scan Of Left Hand
What to do if i lost use of my left hand after having triple by pass, a CT scan was done, i now have nerve damage?
Keep trying: It is possible you may have had a stroke on the right half of your brain or have some nerve deficit on your left upper extremity. As a general rule , if in 100days it is still flaccid it may remain flaccid, however if some function has begun to return, it may continue to improve past the 100day mark. So continue pt/ot efforts. Do not give up, keep trying. What youhave a yearlater isprettymuch it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Computed tomography is also known as CT scan. Ct uses xrays taken an 360 degrees combined with a computer to see"inside" the body. The table moves as the xray tube and detectors spin around the patient 10 times a second or more! the image shows excellent soft tissue detail, enhanced with injection of intravenous contrast or oral contrast. This way the body is shown in slices, in any plane, usually axially, but ...Read more
8 year old have spasms in left hand and foot. Spasm getting more frequent and larger. There is no pain and the CT scan showed nothing abnormal.Advise?
MRI: CT is limited to what it can see. You did not mention what the CT was for or what body part. In the pediatric age group, MRI is preferable in view of its lack of X-ray and better soft tissue visualization. MRI should include head, neck and thoracic spines at the least. Perhaps that will get to the root of the issue. Good luck ...Read more

Musculoskeletal pain: Suzie, At your age, I would think that you have a problem with the nerves and muscles in your neck and chest. The nerves for the left upper extremity come out of the neck. There may be spasm in the muscles of your neck and chest that are causing the pain down to your hand. Go to your primary care doctor or an urgent care clinic the be evaluated and treated. ...Read more
Slight tingle in left hand(pink&ring)tingles in left foot too/ clean blood work and cat scan! super nervous. I have been getting allergy/sinus headach?
Calm down: Don't let your nerves get the best of you. What body part got the cat scan and why? I would see an orthopedist since there is hand and foot involvement and let them conclude if you have isolated nerve compressions i.E carpal and tarsal tunner syndrome or some radiculpathy more proximally i.E the back, or some systemic disorder. I do not think the sinus headache is related. Feel better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Don't trust hospital here.Rn told other rn he put IV wrong so they had to hand inject my CT scan dye.Is that safe? Will i be ok .Not feeling well .
safe: It is safe. Normally in ct we use "power injectors" that are computer operated. However these can not be used with ivs that are too small or that are in vessels that are too small. In those cases, the contrast is injected by hand at a slower rate. ...Read more
After a CT scan with dye, the next day and for 3 months after I had excruciating pain in both of my hands. Was this an adverse reaction to the dye?
Not likely: Reactions to iodine contrast materials are usually allergic such as hives, respiratory distress, and anaphylaxis. These reactions usually last as long as contrast is in circulation. As long as kidneys are functioning satisfactorily the contrast usually is almost entirely cleared by 24 hours. ...Read more
Ct scan uses data from a beam of xrays and reconstructs a cross sectional image of your body. It is a high dose of xrays and used only when the benefits outweigh the risk. Cancer risk is 1 in 500 in children. Also using iodinated contrast might cause transient renal failure in about 5% of patients. (contrast induced nepropathy) most do not explain this to the patient as ...Read more
