Ct uses xrays taken an 360 degrees combined with a computer to see"inside" the body. The table moves as the xray tube and detectors spin around the patient 10 times a second or more! the image shows excellent soft tissue detail, enhanced with injection of intravenous contrast or oral contrast. This way the body is shown in slices, in any plane, usually axially, but ...Read more
Slight tingle in left hand(pink&ring)tingles in left foot too/ clean blood work and cat scan! super nervous. I have been getting allergy/sinus headach?
Calm down: Don't let your nerves get the best of you. What body part got the cat scan and why? I would see an orthopedist since there is hand and foot involvement and let them conclude if you have isolated nerve compressions i.E carpal and tarsal tunner syndrome or some radiculpathy more proximally i.E the back, or some systemic disorder. I do not think the sinus headache is related. Feel better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

MRI: CT is limited to what it can see. You did not mention what the CT was for or what body part. In the pediatric age group, MRI is preferable in view of its lack of X-ray and better soft tissue visualization. MRI should include head, neck and thoracic spines at the least. I've got fracture of left acetablum 2 yrs early. Now pain in hip joint and foot fingers.Ortho says all ok according to CT scan. What's reason of pain?
Labral tear: If the ct scan shows a well reduced fracture you may need an MRI to look for a labral tear. The labrum is a ring of cartilage around the acetabulum that may be torn at the time of your fracture. This would not show up on ct scan and require an MRI to be seen. If this is the case you may need a hip arthroscopy. There may also be a focal cartilage injury. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It is good at looking at soft tissues and bones to see if there are fractures, swelling, fluid collections (like bruises or abscesses), or growths (like tumors). The feet can be studied to look for stress fractures or other causes of pain not visible on plain x-rays. ...Read more

Ct scan uses data from a beam of xrays and reconstructs a cross sectional image of your body. It is a high dose of xrays and used only when the benefits outweigh the risk. Cancer risk is 1 in 500 in children. Also using iodinated contrast might cause transient renal failure in about 5% of patients. (contrast induced nepropathy) most do not explain this to the patient as ...Read more
