Groin & cervical enlarged ln's that are visible just looking at me. Neck CT w/ contrast said they are not enlarged. Why/ how? Doc didn't get groin ct.

Need to ask your ...: Physician about these suspected enlarged lymph nodes. A ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis may be useful to further evaluate this finding depending on a physical exam.

I had an abdominal and pelvic CT scan last month. My groin was not protected. My Sperm count is low and I can no longer hold an erection. My radiation dosage was at 865 DLP which seems like it converts to 16 mgy. Is this permenent? Was dose too high?

Hernia with neg CT: Hi, i always tell my patients that the "body doesn't lie", you are having pain for a reason. Ct scan's can miss some hernias depending on location, size, type, quality of the imaging study and the radiology interpretation. Several things: Can cause that pain. Yes, degenerative disc disease if it's significant. In your age, I'd consider being seen by a pain management doctor. The pain could be from your sacroiliac ligaments or joint, and also a trigger point pain in your upper groin. Disc injury can also give that type of pain. Get urine tested : Did you have your urine tested? It could be an infection, or you may have passed a small kidney stone that was already gone by the time they did the ct. See neurologist: You need to follow-up with a neurologist to see what is causing the numbness. It could be a nerve compression, not necessarily in your spine but could be between abdominal fascia by the iliac crest. ...Read more

Yes: Seems like your surgeon was correct, likely identifying on their physical examination with you that there may be something else other than a hernia. A ct scan could miss a very small hernia, but otherwise the finding of groin lymph nodes rather than a hernia indicates no need for surgery. Hip a possibility: First, its very difficult to tell without a physical examination and review of your imaging. Arthritis in your hips can often present as groin pain. Hip arthritis would be exacerbated by certain exercise as well. Compression of your lateral femoral cutaneous nerve can also cause nerve pain/shocks.
