Take the test: If you want to know if you are pregnant, take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. I just got diagnosis w/Factor V deficiency. Was on cryselle Birth Control. What else can I take for birth control methods with this disorder?

I just got diagnosis w/Factor V deficiency. Was on cryselle Birth Control. What else can I take for birth control methods with this disorder?

Avoid estrogen.: You may take progestin-only or non-hormonal contraceptives, eg copper IUD. Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is progestin only, but in studies, it has increased the risk of blood clot in FVL deficiency. Cryselle contains estrogen, which, when taken by a patient with Factor V Leiden deficiency, can increase the risk of blood clot. I would also come off the Seasonale; this has estrogen in it. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Do I have to wait til the sunday after my next period to start cryselle birth control my periods are irregular so i don't know when the next one will be and i don't want to wait too long to start it.

Depends: If you have been using good birth control or not been having sex so you are positive you aren't pregnant (and a pregnancy test is negative) you can start your birth control pills now. You will have to use backup birth control this cycle. If you think it's possible you're pregnant then you have to wait until your period comes to be sure you aren't pregnant. ...Read more

Birth control. (Cryselle) If take my pill an hour late 2 days in a row, am I still safe?

Yes: Hi there, so long as you take your pills about every 24 hours, plus or minus 2 hours, you should not have to worry about side effects or the pills being ineffective. You're OK! Just do your best to take your pills every day - you can set your mobile device with an alarm to help, if you want! ...Read more

I am on the birth control Cryselle. I am very good about taking it but there was a delay this time around and I started my new pack 29 hours later than normal. (should have started Fri at 2 PM instead on Sat at 7 PM). I had unprotected sex Saturday night.

Low risk: The risk of pregnancy is low from your delay in starting the medication. You could have taken Plan B after sex, but if it happened last week, it is late for that. God forbid, if you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a pregnancy test. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Does the birth control cryselle-28 up breast cancer risk? My dr said no but the more I read on Internet says yes

I say it does not : Here's the reality. Your physician is bound by law to tell the truth and give you the best science. Anybody can set up a website to scare you, and you are surely aware that epidemiology by its nature generates noise and junk. These folks make money by posing as your friends. They're not. Keep in mind the additional protection from ovarian cancer that an oral contraceptive offers. ...Read more

How long do I have to wait for my birth control to take effect? I did a quick start. It's cryselle brand if that makes any difference. My boyfriend and i are planning on using condoms as well.

It depends: It depends on whether you can be sure you're not pregnant--no sex in the last month, consistent birth control. If no risk of pregnancy, you can do a "quick start" and start anytime. Many doctors advise starting on the first day of a period. Use back up birth control for 7 days if you start anytime other than day 1 of your period. ...Read more
