Bad news about my dad & cried for hrs Tuesday night w/intermittent crying spells yesterday & today. Vision's been blurry since. Need to see to work.

Blurred vision: Sorry to hear about your father & hope things are not too serious. For your vision, things to consider would be substances getting into the eyes, injury to the surface of the eyes from possible rubbing and stress from the news. Try artificial tears or eye drops to maybe cleanse the eyes, avoid rubbing eyes & if persists, see your eye doc for further evaluation. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Can you drink on Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) 50mg in moderation? I drank and started having crying spells. But drank before on it w/no issues? Hormones possibly?

Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) & EtOH ?: It's well known that alcohol has pronounced effects on mood. It's likely a bottle of Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) was labelled at the pharmacy "Do not consume alcohol". The main reason for that warning is bc alcohol can have such a pronounced effect on mood, that it's tough to tell if the med is working, if a pt also drinks alcohol during treatment. Why does eating cause irritability, tiredness, and crying spells?

If you get these: Symptoms after eating, you need to inform your family doctor about this as there's a great chance that you have what is referred to as postprandial hypoglycemia. What this means is that after eating your blood sugar goes up followed by a rise in your insulin. Too much Insulin is released by your pancreas and it over shoots such that the blood sugar then tends to drop precipitously and trigger things like depression panic attacks, tearfulness, and palpitations. It can be diagnosed by a simple glucose tolerance test. The treatment is to use multiple small meals throughout the day so that you do not get any large Insulin peaks. If your doctor feels that you need a more complete workup by an endocrinologist to rule out a small Insulin secreting tumor of your pancreas which are overwhelmingly benign, then he or she could refer you to a endocrinologist.Best wishes and i hope you feel better soon. ...Read more
