My 4.5 year old daughter has myopia and was prescribed -3 in cylinderical correction in left eye. (right eye normal) Any way to cure it?
This should be: Investigated by an opthomologist.Get a more detailed answer ›
Typical difference: Almost every one can perceive a color saturation difference between each eye. A small difference is normal and rarely there can be a big difference. Unless one of the eyes had some health issue, this is probably a normal difference and not something to worry about. ...Read more
Retraction vs ptosis: Retraction of eye lid on one side is an early sign of thyroid disease. The question is is the other eyelid starting to droop i.e. a ptosis. An ophthalmologist can provide the answer and address the issue. ...Read more
Limited information: This depends upon why the right eye is less "strong". It could be a need for higher amounts of eyeglass correction, or a left over difficulty from infancy termed amblyopia or some mechanical or inherited lowering of vision. This is a good time to have your ophthalmologist evaluate your eyes and determine the best pathway. ...Read more
Depends how much...: If you look closely, you will see almost everyone's face has some asymmetry. It is more prominent in some people than others. Many people have asymmetry in brow height, cheek prominence, jaw line, etc. If it is mild, it is probably normal. If you are concerned about it, bring it up to your doctor for discussion. ...Read more

It's your eyelid: The eyeballs almost never change size rapidly. It's your eyelid position that most commonly changes. A droopy eyelid (ptosis) can make that eye look smaller. Another possibility is something pushing one eye forward (proptosis). Go to your ophthalmologist for an exam. ...Read more

Tearing: Tearing can be due to many causes such as dry eye, blepharitis, rosacea, allergies, and any other cause of eye irritation. Since it is unilateral, you need to have your tear drainage system evalated by an eye doctor. In the meantime, try artificial tears, warm compresses, and ointment at night. ...Read more
Need more info: If by 50, you mean 20/50 then that eye needs to be 20 feet away from something that can normally be seen at 50 feet. The 22 you mention is harder to understand. Pd means pupillary distance and just describes how wide apart your eyes are for eyeglass fitting purposes and is not an indication of vision. If you provide more details, a better answer can be given. ...Read more
What to do if I have power -.25 120 degrees in the right eye and -.25 75 degrees in the left eye?
Glasses Rx: A glasses Rx is written with the Sphere first (near sighted or farsighted), then cylinder (+ or -) then axis or cylinder. A Rx of plano (or nothing) -0.25x 120 is minimal and usually does not need to be used depending on the patient (are you 20/20 in each eye without any glasses). ...Read more

My right eye is perfect, but my left eye is not as good. What are ways to cure my left eye from bad vision?
I just noticed the vision in my left eye seems a little duller and blue tinted than my right eye. Is this bad?
My right eye is clear while my left eye is. My right eye is also brighter. Is there a problem with my left eye?
Notice when I have my contacts in I see a lot clearer in my left eye than my right eye. Shouldn't they be equal?
Vision with contacts: It depends! Certainly most contact lens fittings are done to perfect equal vision in each eye. However, the over 40 set may elect monovision, one eye set for distance and the other for near so as to avoid the need for reading glasses! if the vision cannot be corrected to achieve equal sight in both eyes, there could be a defect in the contact lens or the eye itself. Best to have this checked out. ...Read more
Do lattice regions occur in multiples usually? I have 4 in left eye and 2 in right eye. Is it normally how they occur?
Usually find several: Lattice is the retinas way of responding to peripheral stress by laying down a type of protective attachment to the underlying tissue. The stresses are equal in both eyes and lattice commonly is bilateral and multiple stress points occur in each eye so there are sometimes more than one area involved. They represent a continued area of stress for the formation of retinal detachment over time. ...Read more
