There are times that all that is needed is test and other times casting and non weight bearing with crutches is indicated. I would discuss specifics of your case with your doctor ...Read more

What should I expect after osteochondroma surgery in my left inner side of my knee? How long on crutches? Will I need a cast or brace for some time?
Call your doctor:
You need to ask this question to your treating doctor.
The rehabilitation after surgery for osteochondroma depends highly upon the size of the tumor and the tumor location near your knee. At 28, you have probably had it for some time.
The AAOS has great information on osteochondroma to help you learn more.
Best of luck to you.

I sustained a jones fracture on march 9th. I am not weight bearing and am on crutches. Do I need a cast/splint? Is it ok to move my foot up and down
5th metatarsal: It is important that you see a physician to guide you through this. With a “jones fracture” there is a high risk for nonunion, or failure to heal properly so timely medical intervention is key for an optimal outcome. Nwb w/ crutches is certainly a safe move. You also may want to inquire about a cam walkker/ boot. I would refrain from excessive foot/ ankle motion until cleared by your physician. ...Read more

Why cast and crutches for 6 weeks after big toe fusion surgery? Definitely not what was discussed in advance. ...
This could be needed:
Depending on the fixation used, your age, general health and the quality of your bone, you my require 6 weeks or longer with cast/boot and crutches to heal.
The 2 bones must be kept in close proximity and still relative to each other in order for the fusion site to heal.
Sometimes a bone stimulator is required but this is not expected. Smoking can delay healing of the fusion site as well. ...Read more

I have a grade 2-3 ankle sprain, I have ace wrap air cast and crutches. Can I sleep in the ace and cast and when does this pain and swelling go away?
Try it without.: You probably don't have to sleep in the cast, but the foot and leg should be elevated. Use several pillows to supply support to the entire leg.
