Crusty bumps on scalp; what are they? I'm an 87 year- old man, been sick; when i cut my hair, there seems to be a crust on the scalp.
Scabs on scalp: These may be scabs, clusters of dried blood leaking from small wounds on the scalp, or they may be scales, thick chunks of dead skin like dandruff. Try using medicated shampoos, like head and shoulders, selsun blue and t gel, and wash his hair, for ten minutes a time, every day, alternating shampoos. I have small crusty bumps on my scalp. i can pick them off by scrapping with finger or comb. What could it be?
You can: Usually seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis. A dermatologist will help you. Meanwhile you can get 3% salicylic acid (T-Sal, others) shampoo. Cysts/acne necrotica: It's difficult to tell you exactly what this is without examining you, but if what you have are marble size or larger moveable knots in the deeper subcutaneous tissue, I favor pilar cysts.
