Not just Shoes...: Either shoe will do, but shoes are not the end all treatment for runners knee. There are many more things to consider before fixating on the shoe type. More important is whether you had, presently have or are in a preventive mode for the treatment of the problem. I suggest you seek out a sports medicine ortho specialist to do a proper evaluation and subsequent treatment and exercise protocol. ...Read more

Have mild-moderate Overpronation/flat feet & wear orthotics. OK to wear stabilizing athletic sneakers without orthotics?Same support?

Have mild-moderate Overpronation/flat feet & wear orthotics. OK to wear stabilizing athletic sneakers without orthotics?Same support?

Not as supportive: It is okay to wear athletic shoes without orthotics, but you will not get the same level of support for your arch. Custom orthotics conform to your arch and can help limit excessive pronation. The best combination for support is to wear custom orthotics with a stable athletic shoe. This becomes even more important if you participate in high-impact activities like running. ...Read more

What's better for the foot? Sneakers, sandals, running shoes?

What's better for the foot? Sneakers, sandals, running shoes?

All can be fine: This is hard to answer. It depends on the quality of the shoe, how well it fits the shape of your foot and, most importantly, how well it feels. As a rule, the thicker the sole, the stiffer the shoe, the better the support, the better the shoe is for you. It does mean that other shoes are bad. Using generalities, my best answer to your question, would be a good running shoe. Dr l. ...Read more

Use orthotic 4 overpronation+bunion used 2 wear aa width shoe age+bunin med width now.Heel backof heel&ankle still narrow should wear custom made shoe?

Gel heel liner: There are so many shapes and sizes of feet that shoe manufacturers cannot possibly make shoes for every need. What i would recommend you do is find a shoe that fits your toes and then purchase a gel heel liner that goes into the back of the shoe to help snug the shoe around the heel. You can search online for gel heel liners and you will likely find a company that sells them.N. ...Read more

Are new sketcher's training shoes just as dangerous as wearing high heels or platforms?

Are new sketcher's training shoes just as dangerous as wearing high heels or platforms?

No: Running with scissors is dangerous. Running in skechers is not. High heels and platforms are only "dangerous" in pregnancy if you fall or twist your ankle. Most people are not comfortable in them later in pregnancy, but they can't cause any real harm to moms or babies. If you are comfortable in them, go ahead and wear whatever you like. Comfort and fit are the most important features. ...Read more

With a tailbone injury can you do strength training w weights ie squats, leg press, hip abducter and cardio - elliptical?

Varies: It varies somewhat based on the severity of the injury. If it is a fracture, you would be well suited to avoid exercises that put extra strain on that area such as seated military press, etc for 6-8 weeks. If it was more of a soft tissue injury, than basically you would just try to keep your activities to such a level that your pain is not aggravated, but could increase them as tolerated. ...Read more
