Does moderate degenerative joint disease of the knees at age 60 qualify for social security disability?
Does kid qualify for vaccine exempt with family hist of scleroderma, Raynaud's, psoriasis, scoriatic arthritis, and personal hist of eczema and celiac?

You can apply for ssi and katie beckett at the same time. If you are denied ssi for financial reasons, the federally -funded katie beckett program is based on the other two factors. The level of impairment is more stringent. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can a md. Deny medicare-paid hospice end-stage dementia patient physical therapy if patient's family requests it to maintain movement with new law?
Hmmm . . . : Could there maybe be a disagreement between this physician and your family about what's in the patient's best interests? This is a deep discussion that involves much thought and consideration, and which deserves scheduled time with your relative's doctor to go over treatment plans, prognosis, etc. Maybe such a discussion can resolve these issues? Doctors want to help, not hurt or harm. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Whats the diffrence from being introverted and having social anxiety and ant-social disorder? I'm introvtd & hve some soc. anxiety but can function.
Discrimination: You are probably the best judge of how you feel about this. If you honestly feel better alone or w/ very limited interactions, that can be fine. Even having anxiety if you are forced into a social situation can be okay if you know how to manage your life to minimize it and recover well. Anti-social = bad behavior (often illegal) that shows no concern for others' well-being. Probably not you. ...Read more
Eventually impaires : All areas of function in this question eventually become effected more or less. No one answer. The type of dementia plays a big role in these areas. Fronto-temp. Dementia often starts at earlier ages and is often mistaken as a primary psychiatric condition as cognition is relatively spared in early stages but behaviors may be very inappropriate. Disability may be needed which becomes another issue. ...Read more
Not from diagnosis: It is unlikely that the diagnosis itself of wilson's disease (inherited tendency to accumulate and deposit copper in organs including liver and brain) carries a social stigma, but the psychiatric disturbance and neurologic signs that can accompany wilson's unfortunately may. I am hopeful that our society is moving towards the point at which psychiatric illness no longer carries a stigma. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Subtle question: In mania, people subjectively feel their performance is superior when actually it is not--it becomes degraded by distractability and flighty thinking. Yet underlying cognitive capacity remains intact. Mild mania (hypomania) provide boosts of energy that multiply the effect of intelligence even though, once again, the underlying capacity remains unchanged. Untreated bipolar reduces net performance. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How do you mean it?: I suppose the folks handling decisions are the best ones to ask, but i really can't imagine how severe bipolar disorder would not qualify as a disability - at least partial. However, many bi-polar people do work even though it is difficult. But, if you mean: can i hold an employer to blame for being diagnosed as bi-polar, probably not. ...Read more
