Doctor insights on:
Cricopharyngeal Spasm Burping
Burping issues?: Involuntary belching after a meal is normal, caused by release of swallowed gas after distension of the stomach with food. Magenblase syndrome is postprandial epigastric fullness & bloating, relieved by belching. Aerophagia (accumulation of gas due to air swallowing) is common with anxiety, hypersalivation from gum chewing, smoking, drinking, oral irritation. In some, belching can become habitual.
Nonspecific: Your symptoms are nondiagnostic. Your physician or a gastroenterologist will take a thorough history, perform a complete examination and order any appropriate tests in order to make a diagnosis. In the meantime follow a bland, fat free diet and take mylanta after meals to prevent gas buildup.See 1 more doctor answer

Pain in the ribs right behind my left shoulder blade that ONLY shows up when I burp/hiccup - like a spasm. Massage and physio helps but only for so long. Any ideas?
Some ideas: Diaphram pain often goes to that spot. Hiccup is a spasm of diaphram. Other things affecting the diaphram can be the reason and a chest x-ray and at least Hiatal Hernia (a full stomach would make this much worse) should also be considered. Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health,See 1 more doctor answer
At least once a week I've been feeling what feels like heart palpitations, fluttering. Every time I feel that, I burp. Related to gerd? Esophagus spasm?
Palpitations: Palpitations have many causes from anxiety through anatomic and physiologic abnormalities. The feeling of bounding usually relates to the volume of blood pumped with each palpitation. There is no simple single answer for the question. If you're bothered by the feeling should consult a dr. To see if the problem can be clarified. GI gas could cause palpitations
Abdominal pains for a week now, nausea, burping, not eating or drinking much, tmuscle spasms. Took some magnesium citrate had diarrhea 2x in pain stil?
See a live doc!: Abdominal pain for a week should NOT be dealt with over the net. See a human Doctor. The mag citrate normally loosens stool. Get thee to a doc, now.
Throat spasm triggered by burping? Now when I drink water or talk I feel the spasm. Like a marble trying to go down. Last for seconds.
What is esophageal spasms? Is it related to gerd? I'm 37 weeks pregnant and having skipped heartbeat sensation, will burp and past out gas after that.
Not related to GERD: Esophageal spasm are irregular uncoordinated and sometimes powefull contractionsof the esophagus. There are two types of esophageal spasm 1diffuse which is irregular, uncoordinated squeezing of the muscle of the esophagus 2nutcracker esophagus which squeezes esophagus in coordinated way. But squeezing is very strong spasm causes pain in chest your symptoms suggest gerd and you should check with md.
Take protonix (pantoprazole) but still have mild post nasal drip, clearing throat clear mucus/ little yellow/ burping/ feeling something in throat and spasm. Why?
Experiencing muscle spasms under left breast diaphragm area as well as tenderness in back of upper left back, with a lot of burping. Lung congestion to?
See your physician: Say "pain", not "muscle spasm"; you may unintentionally mislead your physician. Any upper abdominal pain with upper back pain radiation is suspicious for pancreatic pain. While it can be a benign gastroduodenitis, you must not miss a more serious diagnosis, like pancreatitis, or a duodenal ulcer penetrating into the head of the pancreas. See your physician.
Constant ache in right hand side abdomen half way up ribs, combined with throat spasm, and burping. Made worse by lying or leaning. Passing gas also!
Exam needed: These symptoms and their location suggest liver or gall bladder origin. Appendicitis symptoms are usually in the right lower abdomen. I recommend that you be examined by your physician and appropriate testing will be done. Referral may be made to an abdominal surgeon or gastroenterologist depending upon the findings.
Stress and spasm: Muscle spasms can be the result of tension. Massage can be helpful in the acute stage of a muscle spasm. Progressive muscle relaxation can be a tool that you can learn from a stress management program or from a recording, or stress reduction workbook, or an app.See 1 more doctor answer
The muscles in my lower back have been spasming for a couple hours now without pain. What could be the cause?
After gallblddr removal I have severe pain upper stomch. Lasts abt 5-8hrs/episode feels like intestnes are severly spasming. Wht cld it b?
Bile leak: I always worry about a bile leak after a cholecystectomy. I would be urgently evaluated by the surgeon who performed the surgery, if it continues to be of discomfort for you through the night, have a very low threshold for being emergently evaluated in the emergency department by an ER doctor. Be well.
I've herniated discs in the past. A few days ago I was leaning and then I was on my knees in pain. It's been 4 days and it still is spasming. Help!
Back pain: Is one of the most common presenting symptoms in the Office and the Emergency room. With your pre-existing History of the Herniated discs, you are certainly more susceptible to pains in your back. See your Doctor and maybe a good Physical therapy program designed for you as well as some medications after a physical exam can be of benefit to you. Best wishes.See 1 more doctor answer
