Crick In Neck For A Month
I've had a Crick in my neck for over a month and I also noticed a knot the size of a small pea... I think it's a lymph node... But it comes and goes?
I have swollen lymph node in neck for a month now my blood tests have been all clear the doctors aren't worried but I am I also have headaches?
Get checked: Swollen nodes may be residual from a viral infection. The most common bacteria causing enlarged nodes are strep and staph so sometimes going on an antibiotic effective against them will make them smaller which makes it less likely that something bad is happening. Even in cases of lymphoma blood testing is normal. I would see an ENT for further evaluation. ...Read more

I have one itchy spot on my neck for a month now--no scabies-no lice- not allergic to any soaps--no new clothing--no scabies--what is it?
Hard to speculate: This may have started off as a simple reaction to something you came in contact with. If it has persisted this long it may be what is labeled a neurodermatitis, a fancy label for changes that occur if you itch & scratch producing more itching & scratching. It may respond to an otc hydrocortisone cream and your willful effort to avoid scratching for a couple months. Your doc may need to see it. ...Read more

Neck pain: Could be muscular or musculoskeletal. Does the pain radiate down your arms, cause numbness, tingling in the hands or fingers? I had my right lymphoids removed a month ago. I have been having sever pain on the left side of my neck. Why the left side and not right?
See doctor: It could've been the position your head was in when they removed the right sided lymphoid tissue. Also with your history of throat cancer, you have to be closely watched by your doctor. So, if you're in severe pain, it's best to call your pcp, and let her/him know what you're experiencing. So they can prescribe something for relief, and also document this in your chart. ...Read more

OTC meds, imaging:
Muscular pain can be frustrating. Taking an anti inflammatory drug such as aspirin, Ibuprofen, naprosyn obtained OTC at a pharmacy may help. Take with food so it does not upset your stomach.
Changing position, work clothes posture may help as well.

My neck has locked up and can't move it to the left at all and stays like that up to twenty min. In the last six months this has happened 5 or 6 times the pain feels like it is maybe from one of the first 4 or 5 verda
It sounds like you may be dealing with a muscle spasm. Have you tried musce relaxers or anti-inflammatory medications? I am curious to know what relieves the pain? Do you have any other symptoms when this happens like tingling or numbness? Were you involved in an accident prior to the start of these symptoms?
When you see your primary care provider for this issue, these and other questions will be asked, along with a physical exam, and possibly imaging studies ordered. This is the only way to figure out what exactly you are dealing with, and to ensure proper treatment.
I wish you the best. ...Read more

I can feel a small gland on left side of my neck it does not hurt its hard and its been there for months since I notice it
Enlarged lymph nodes or "lymphadenopathy" are very common. Lymph nodes are part of the immune system and enlarge with white blood cells to fight off infections when they detect a foriegn substance such as a virus or bacteria. (ever notice lumps in your neck with a sore throat?) usually these nodes shrink back down to normal size a few weeks after the infection is over, but can sometimes stay enlarged. No one is quite sure why this happens, but it's usually harmless.
Other illnesses such as autoimmune disease or cancer can cause enlarged lymph nodes, but often multiple nodes are involved, they can get very large, keep growing instead of shrinking and are associated with other symptoms such as fever, chills, weight loss, rash, etc. If you are concerned about this node, or notice it enlarging, becoming painful, or if you nitce more, contact your doctor. ...Read more

The lower left side of my back hurts whenever I bend my neck downwards. This has been happening for a few months. What is the cause?
I commend any younger person picking up on what their body is doing and inquiring about it. That kind of awareness over a lifetime will serve you well.
Bending your head stretches your neck muscles which are connected to muscles in the back and low back. Pain described is often from poor posture. Strengthen and balance the core muscles. ...Read more

Acanthosis: The changes in the skin associated with diabetes (acanthosis) is typically associated with type 2 diabetes in older children and adults, and it doesn't go away (which you imply it does but then comes back).
