What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

Not much: Treatment of elevated lp (a) is a bit tough. Potent statins can mitigate the risk by lowering the ldl-cholesterol level as much as possible (below 70 mg/dl), since that particle is tied to the ldl-c molecule. Estrogen therapy in women, Niacin in both sexes, and in the future, cholesterol ester transfer protein inhibitors (if they come to market) may lower lp (a) levels. ...Read more

I was just wondering the best time for crestor (rosuvastatin)?

I was just wondering the best time for crestor (rosuvastatin)?

This is because the medication works by decreasing cholesterol synthesis which is increased during the evening hours. Other statins (lipitor, crestor) have very long half-lives (14-18 hours) and have equal effect if taken in the morning or evening. ...Read more

Crestor (rosuvastatin) is new for me and I get acid reflux every day now. Is this a common complaint of patients?

Maybe: Have seen rarely. May or may not be related to crestor (rosuvastatin). Should talk with your physician who prescribed the Crestor (rosuvastatin) about whether you can briefly stop & see if heartburn/reflux goes away; then restart and see if recurs. If so then likely related to Crestor (rosuvastatin) & either need different med or add acid blocker. Is there any natural things to lower cholesterol, currently on crestor (rosuvastatin) and wirry about long term effects.?

Is there any natural things to lower cholesterol, currently on crestor (rosuvastatin) and wirry about long term effects.?

Natural may help: The long term effects of statins like Crestor (rosuvastatin) are usually minimal and easy to monitor for by doing simple blood tests and talking to your doctor. Statins also are more effective at lowering certain type of cholesterol than natural drugs. If you really need to get the cholesterol down because of other health problems (diabetes, heart disease) then a statin is best. Otherwise fish oil and diet work! ...Read more

Is it safe to take crestor (rosuvastatin) 10 after the expiration date of 4-20016 how often should you get a Liver test when taking crestor (rosuvastatin) 10?

Is it safe to take crestor (rosuvastatin) 10 after the expiration date of 4-20016 how often should you get a Liver test when taking crestor (rosuvastatin) 10?

Not a good idea: To make a "habit" out of taking EXPIRED medication but chances are there is no harm or loss of strength a month or so beyond the expiration date. The FDA requires that the date used is CONSERVATIVE!!!!!

Liver Function should be measured each time you have your LIPID tests are done! The FIRST set should be no later than 4 weeks after starting!
Hope this helps!
