What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

Not much: Treatment of elevated lp(a) is a bit tough. Potent statins can mitigate the risk by lowering the ldl-cholesterol level as much as possible (below 70 mg/dl), since that particle is tied to the ldl-c molecule. Estrogen therapy in women, Niacin in both sexes, and in the future, cholesterol ester transfer protein inhibitors (if they come to market) may lower lp(a) levels. ...Read more

If I stop crestor (rosuvastatin) then all I take is 5mg lisinopril daily, at 92. I guess that is ok even though I never took pills in my life before.?

You're healthy!: May i humbly suggest that you are healthy and lived to 92 without cholesterol medication - then you certainly don't need them now! be healthy through lifestyle - good diet, exercise, a few supplements to support as needed! you are an example of the over-prescription of these medications in the U.S.! ...Read more

What vitamin supplements should one avoid when taking 75 mg plavix, two 81mg aspirin and 40mg crestor (rosuvastatin) daily?

What vitamin supplements should one avoid when taking 75 mg plavix, two 81mg aspirin and 40mg crestor (rosuvastatin) daily?

High dose E BUT...: Vitamins are by definition essential for health so I'm wary of any drug that makes it necessary to avoid vitamins. The only vit. that interacts with these is Vit E, which in high doses thins blood so may increase risk of bleeding with Plavix (clopidogrel) & aspirin. However, this potential risk pales in comparison with the known hazards of combining Plavix (clopidogrel) & aspirin. Please see http://bit.ly/VHiLuH & my comment: ...Read more

Wondering if cophylac drops have any interactions with crestor (rosuvastatin) or BP meds?

Canadian: We don't have cophylac in the usa so I have somewhat limited information. It is a combination of normethadone and hydroxyephedrine. I found no interaction with crestor (rosuvastatin). The hydroxyehedrine component could potentially counteract some of your blood pressure medicine so your BP should be monitored when you're taking it. ...Read more

Can crestor (rosuvastatin) be crushed?

Can crestor (rosuvastatin) be crushed?

Yes and no: Crestor’s maker suggests it should be taken whole and not be crushed, chewed, or broken. There is no reason that it cannot necessarily be crushed, aside from the coating possibly masking the drug’s medicinal taste, but do be aware upon crushing the tablet, some of the coating pieces could remain, kind of how like if you crushed M&M’s, you’d see the difference between chocolate and candy coating. ...Read more
