Creatinine 4 0 But Normal Bun After Dialysis
Last blood work: AST 14, ALT 15, creatinine 1.02. Egfr 85. Total bilirubin 1.0.BUN 5.0 Creatinine and bilirubin barely in normal range. Worry or not?
Looking good: Well these labs look good. Why did you have them checked? You do need to drink more water ...Read more
Simple answer is that it is a medical technology used primarily to provide an artificial replacement for lost kidney function in people with renal failure. Hemodialysis remove wastes and excess water from the blood by circulating blood outside the body through an external filter, called a dialyzer. Blood and dialysate flow through in opposite directions and the ...Read more
My lab reports are serum creatinine 80, GFR 72, and creatinine clearance 69.9. my 24 hr urine creatinine was 6.9 and spot urine 2.2. What does it mean?
Not much: You're 55 years old and -- congratulations -- a recovered problem drinker. Unless you're especially fit or heavily-muscled, your creatinine may be a bit high and maybe your kidneys are getting old -- but this level is perfectly compatible with good health and if you had serious kidney disease, it would be a lot worse by now. Eat sensibly, stay fit and I bet your kidneys will last a lifetime. ...Read more
I had one more quick question. If bun 25, creatinine 1.5, bun/creat ratio 17, egfr 58...The egfr means im in stage 3 CKD right? 58% kidney function?
Stage 3 CKD: You are correct in that your estimated GFR of 58 ml/min puts you into stage 3 chronic kidney disease. Remember, your GFR is estimated. The actual result may be greater, or lower, than the egfr. To get your acutal gfr, have a 24 hour urine for creatinine clearance. Ask the physician who orders this test to have proteinuria (p) assess in that sample. If p is present, it may needed to be treated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Cr 24/kg is 27.2 (creatinine clearance). Normal is up to 24. Worried about hyperfiltration, not abnormally muscular. 4 months ago serum creatinine was .88 and BUN 12. Weight is 195lbs 22% bodyfat.
Hyper-filtration?: I do not understand what you mean by "Cr 24/kg" Perhaps one of the nephrologists at HealthTap does but creatinine clearance is a volume per minute measurement and normal value for a 23 year old white male is 90 to 140ml/min and 110 to 170ml/min in black males. Based on your weight, age, and creatinine your clearance is approximately 163ml/min which is excellent (there's no such thing as too high) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Serum Creatinine 1.6, Chloride 108, GFR 48. Would exercise move creatine levels out of normal? A week prior Creatinine 1.4 & Chloride 108. Concerns?
Here are some ...: These reports alone represent your current attainable / acceptable, stable range for your body homeostasis. As long as you have no additional related symptoms, further concern will do no good but practicing healthy lifestyle with no overindulgence / obsession, especially avoiding kidney-insulting drugs, will, a lot. So, live on and ask Doc timely. Best wish ... ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Monocytes 15%; bun/creatinine ratio 24; esterase (abnormal); microalbumin 77.9; vitamin d 24.8. What does this mean with remaining results all normal?
Nothing alone: Percentages of white cells are totally uninformative in the absence of absolute counts. Your bun/creatinine ratio may be nothing more than your having just eaten a steak dinner. A trace of Albumin in a non-diabetic's urine usually means nothing. I need the units for the vitamin d -- what did your physician say? Lab ranges are set so that almost everybody has a few flags. What did your doctor say? ...Read more
Is 3822.00 mmol/l normal 24- hour urine creatinine? Is 200.1ug/24h normal cortisol level for 24 hour urine test?
My Glucose, Serum is 5 mg/dL
BUN/ Creatinine Ratio is 22
CO2 is 9 mmol/L
AST 54 IU/L
ALT 54 IU/L
What does all this indicate?
Mistake?: Normal BG - 60-100 range. BG of 5 mg/dl produces profound neurologic disturbance. Please recheck that value. BUN could indicate mild dehydration. CO2 -really bicarbonate- is low indicating excess acid in blood stream. AST and ALT both mildly / nonspecifically elevated. Line by line interpretation of labs -not very helpful. Need to know context in which they were drawn in order to understand. ...Read more
Low GFR, one kidney: You may hace chronic kidney disease (ckd). Your creatinine level is dependent is your age, sex, race and weight. You are the one to determine what those are. I would suggest you see a neprhologist and collect a 24 hour urine to see how well your one kidney is working. Another test that can be done is an ultrasound of your one kidney to see its size and to see if there is any presence of ckd. ...Read more
Age 29. Dull kidney pain for 5 days after binge drinking. Worse at night. BUN 24, creat .93, BUN/creat 26, eGFR 111. CBC normal. Kidney cancer likely?
Kidney: If you continue to abuse your health with "binge drinking" you will be dealing with real and serious health issues such as liver and kidney failure as well as diabetes etc. Why did you go straight past real problems to a highly unlikely "kidney cancer"? clearly you had a medical workup and your doctor would have answered that question. Do you have a general anxiety diagnosis? are you on any meds? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Diabetic, CABG 2 years ago. Currently creatinine fluctuating between 4.8-5.6. Urine output inormal. haemoglobin 8.4. How to reduce creatinine?
Increased creatinine: It sounds like you have diabetic kidney disease and it is severe (stage V). With the numbers you have dialysis may be near. You are anemic which goes along with your chronic kidney disease. Drinking large amount of fluids could overload your heart and cause congestive heart failure. You need to see a kidney doctor ASAP if you are not already and be worked up. ...Read more
I'm a 50 yr old diabetic & my last bloodwork is: GFR was 60, creatinine 0.6, bun 11 is the GFR showing impaired kidney funtion or ckd? Should i worry?
Short answer, no.: Those #'s are very good. It's important to screen for the presence of urinary protein, either a "plain vanilla" urinalysis, or the more accurate urine microalbumin test, and if present, your doctor should consider prescribing an acei or arb medication. And of course, you ought to know your hemoglobin a1c test result, as well. ...Read more

My serum creatinine is high 1.43 (normal up to 1.2 ) serum urea 22 (normal up to 45) urine analysis normal no hypertension no diabetes ?
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, as I mentioned earlier, if you are a muscular man engaged in regular physical activity, a creatinine of 1.43 may not be abnormal. Please consult a nephrologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

BUN = 24. Creatinine = 0.59. BUN/Creatinine Ratio = 40.7. Potassium = 5.4. Doc said I'm ok, but are my kidneys okay? I had MRIs w/ dye 3 days earlier
Hydration: The ratio of BUN to creatinine suggests that you were not properly hydrated when the blood was taken for the test. As and when you repeat the test, make sure you drink enough water before the test, even if you have to be fasting for the test. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
