Creatin Blood Test
Is bad to eat protien every day because i made a blood test lately and resulted ubnormal . I had high creatin and high acid in blood.
Recently started perindopril for hbp. Blood test. Hameotology normal. B12/feratin normal creatin/gfr normal. Potassium 3.4 (ref 3.5-5.5). Problem?
Labs are all normal: Hi Lorraine, Perinopril is a commonly used, long acting med called an ACE inhibitor. (angiotensin-converting-enzyme ) These medications can cause issues with *elevated* potassium or even kidney disfunction. which is why your physician likely order these labs. Slightly low potassium is no reason for concern. Please add a few servings of K rich foods (spinach, potatoes, apricots) to your diet ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've done blood test today and my Creatine Kinase level shown is 322 IU/L. What does that indicate? How can I reduce this CK level to normal range?
Muscle issue: Creatine Kinase is an enzyme in muscles and any issue affecting the muscles, including exercise, can raise CK levels. You need to address the cause of the elevation. You may consult this site and then discuss the matter with your doctor who ordered the test. http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-catalog/Clinical+and+Interpretive/8336 ...Read more
Lab results: The lab results you mention, low creatinine high and egfr is low are consistent with a person with chronic kidney disease. The co2 in chronic kidney disease is not high and can be low. The high bun-creatinine ratio is suggestive of a dehydrated state. Please provide the actual numbers of the lab values you stated for a better answer. ...Read more
I did blood test and creatine kinase was very high, i think more than 1000. I am going to the gym 4,5 days a week. Should i drink more water or?
My mom 69 yrs old suffering from diabeties n oestioporosis.. had a blood test that showed... high HDL, creatine 3, and uric acid 4. What to do?
Not creatine: Hi. We don't measure creatine. I bet it was her creatinine that was 3, in which case they will prepare her for dialysis. Her kidneys are failing. High HDL is not associated with risk; do you mean high LDL? She needs a statin regardless...the cause of death in kidney failure is heart attack (as long as they don't quit going to dialysis). I'm sorry. Good luck to her. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am T1 Diabetic, had a blood test, had 1000 protein leakage from kidney. Creatine and other kidney tests all show healthy kidney. What's wrong?
If you have t1dm: and are leading protein into your urine at such an early age, it's most often due to poor control of blood pressure or blood sugar - or both. A very high protein diet can also make it worse. Check w/your doctor about ACE inhibitors or ARB therapy which may help decrease your protein excretion and keep it for worsening. This is a totally separate problem from kidney blood tests. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

High creatinine: You need to see a nephrologist (n) and have a 24 hour urine for creatinine clearance and protein done. This will give you an acutal measure of your kidney function. If you have proteinuria (p), you will need to be started on either an ace-i or an arb to reduce your BP and p. You should also have a renal ultrasound done. You may need another agent to control your bp. See a n for more answers. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Mother suffering with kidney problem. We got the blood report , in the report serum creatine is 7.5 mg remaining things are not bad. So how to reduce?
It depends, acute?: If chronic, long standing problem, it will not be correctable. But if acute i.e. New problem due to a dehydration or medication or bladder retention, it may be correctable. You need to know the name of the disease (diagnosis that caused kidneys to fail) from doc. If not correctable, needs dialysis. Transplant is doable unless has cancer, poor health, older than 75 but takes few yrs unless from family. ...Read more
Will high bloodsugar cause low creatin levels in urine? I had blood sugar levels of 300 and above and recently took a drug test that came back having low creatin levels.
Diluted urine: A low creatinine is not from elevated sugars, but from excessive water drinking, which is common in diabetics. It means you are drinking enough water to dilute your urine. It is not dangerous, but most drug tests will be considered "adulterated" - a failed test - if the creatinine is below 20. Get your diabetes under control asap. Continued high sugars are dangerous to your health. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
