What is the best scars cream that helps scars disappear?

What is the best scars cream that helps scars disappear?

Scars can'tdisappear: Sorry, but no cream will make a scar disappear. Scars can be improved with scar massage and, often, a cream will be recommended to facilitate that massage. Cocoa butter has worked very well for my patients as has the more expensive mederma. Sun protection and scar massage are much more important in improving a scar than the nature of the cream you use. ...Read more

Can skinoren cream help scars?

Can skinoren cream help scars?

Probably not: The main ingredient, azaleic acid, is used to treat acne or rosacea. It acts as an antibiotic but it also can lessen inflammation and can lessen post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation, so if the scar is hyperpigmented or inflamed, it could be of some use. There are other preparations more suited to scar reduction, such as silicone gels. ...Read more

Does vit C cream help will scars? And can I crush up I vit C pill and make a paste or do I need to buy vit C cream? (sorry for the silly question)

Vitamin E: Historically, vitamin E oil has been used by plastic surgeons to minimize the effects of scarring. I'm not aware of any use of vitamin C to reduce scar. Other ways to reduce a scar include aloe vera, as well as topical Neosporin or Mederma. The Neosporin is very economical. Mederma is more costly. ...Read more

Scars permanent: Scars are permanent. Although options for revision may be available such as steroids, silicone sheeting, dermabrasion, laser, peels, bleaching agents, etc, the beast option will need to be selected with the assistance of a physician. In the meantime avoidance of further biting, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychopharmacologic intervention, time and sunscreen are your best courses. ...Read more

Will tazorac cream (tazarotene cream) help with acne scars?

No: They won't touch the scars. Many men -- including several noted hollywood "tough guys" -- like the scars for the character they give. Hi docs, would beclomethasone, dipropionate, neomycin sulfate and miconazole nitrate cream helps in removing scars mark?

I have a scar that just formed on my right wrist as a result of a car accident. Would steroid creams help lighten the scar. I have an Rx for Betamethasone. As Drs say… Could this possibly do any 'harm ' if use liberally and for short period of time?

Probably won't help: Hypertrophic scarring / keloid formation is a frustrating complication in some patients after trauma or surgery. A strong topical steroid like betamethasone may provide a minimal amount of improvement. Basically, you're taking advantage of the side effect of prolonged use which is skin thinning. Use a small amount 2x daily for a month to know if it's working. Injectable steroids might work better. ...Read more

I want a cream for dog bites scars?

Don't waste your $$$: The only cream worth buying is sunblock to protect the scar from becoming too dark while it is maturing. It is mature when it no longer is even slightly pink. Don't waste a lot of money. There is no good scientific proof that any cream will make the scars heal better or faster. Millions are spent on advertising various creams, lotions, notions and potions so buyer beware. ...Read more

Might there be any cream that will heal my scar and also put up a barrier and protect my skin my dryness?

Different options: A scar means that the tissues have healed. There will be remodeling of it for many months depending on what stresses it undergoes. Regarding skin dryness, using a moisturing cream or lotion will help best. Lotions have more water content and are absorbed faster. Creams last longer but work more slowly. Ointments use petroleum jelly protect but usually do not add much moisture to the skin. ...Read more

Usually nothing: Post surgical scars and trauma scars can usually do well on there own. There are many products that claim to help, but there is little proof. That being said, many feel they can help. Go to the first aid aisle at any pharmacy. Always remember to not get too much sun exposure on the incision for that first year after surgery (sunscreen). Hypertrophic scars can be treated too. ...Read more
