Can you use any cream for eczema to moisture the skin and how many times? Is nievia a good cream for eczema

Yes: People with eczema need plenty of cream, several times a day, to keep their dry skin moisturized. Commonly used creams in the U.S. include CeraVe, Aveeno, (oatmeal) Cetaphil, Eucerin, etc... Such creams are "plain creams", "non-medicated", which means they do not contain hydrocortisone, skin antihistamines, nor skin anesthetics, etc... Nivea sounds fine to use. Can I use Clobetasol ointment or cream for eczema? (dyshidrotic eczema) until when? Thanks.

Yes you can: Keep in mind it is a "strong" steroid prescription medication so use it sparingly and do not use it for weeks upon end. A good plan would be to use it for 2 weeks, then off 2 weeks. It can discolor or thin the skin out or cause striae if used too much. Also avoid using it in certain areas like the face or the inguinal area where the skin is very thin. ...Read more

Is it ok if I used topical steroid creams for eczema or dermatitis long term?

Many Factors Involve: Chronic eczema is often treated with long term use of topical steroids. However, using them in this way requires frequent breaks and good follow up with your doctor to make sure you are not having side effects. It also depends a lot on the strength of the steroid and where you are putting them. Eczema requires a coordinated skin care plan of which steroids are a small part. See your doctor. ...Read more

Can I use surfaz-sn cream on eczema on the top of my bottom and lower lips on my face?

No: This is a terrible choice for anything on the face. The anti fungal component is not of any use for eczema. The neomycin is a useless aminoglycocide which should never be used on skin because it causes so many allergic reactions. The betamethasone is a potent cortisone which may cause perioral dermatitis and carries a risk of glaucoma+ cataracts if used on the face. Best is a calcineurin inhibitor ...Read more

Only for fungus: The econazole only helps with fungal infections, like athlete's foot and ringworm. Instead try over the counter emollient lotions (aquaphor, eucerin, vaseline) on top of hydrocortisone cream OTC. This works best at bed time, then put cotton socks over your hands and feet. See a doc if this doesn't help or you think you could have an infection of the areas (called impetigo), call your doc. ...Read more
