Cramps 8 Days After Cervical Biopsy
I had a pap and colpo with cervical biopsy 8 days ago. I've had mild cramps on and off since then. Is that normal?
I would recommend that you limit sexual activity and core exercise issues It should be greatly improved by 14-21 days depending I on how many biopsies and how deep. Hope this helps
Biopsy is tissue removed by needle or cutting to remove part of a body part. It is usually a small amount of material that is processed by a pathologist. Most of the time it is stained and looked at through a microscope to arrive at a diagnosis. Special processes are done for some tissues or problems. The purpose is to tell what the problem is (diagnosis). ...Read more
Had cervical biopsy mon & was told to wait 3-5 days before sex tired to have sex Thur & didn't continue due to cramps & later blood discharge am I OK?
Cervical biopsy: The cervix has many small blood vessels, so the bleeding is expected following a biopsy, especially if irritated by sexual relations too soon. Just refrain from sex for another 3-4 days, and it will heal, but you might have some minor spotting or even bleeding, but no harm has been done. ...Read more

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 5 days after cervical biopsy not knowing I shouldn't. What's the risk? What are the symptoms of an infection?
You'll be okay: It's unlikely this will result in any harm. If you start having increased pain or something's obviously wrong, call your physician. ...Read more
Not recommended: That is not recommended. You need to take at least a week break, and if it was a cone biopsy, probably longer, more like two weeks. ...Read more
Had a cervical biopsy done now im having a tissue discharge. Looks kind of like skin and its been going on about 2 days now. Is this normal?
Maybe: Sometimes coagulated blood looks like tissue (it's the plasma portion of your blood, that when coagulated takes on a stringy, tan appearance). Cervical biopsies are typically not too invasive, just a pinch or two of tissue. I would be worried if you have a fever or are soaking a pad in 2 hours or less, or bleeding more than a period. Otherwise, weird discharge is probably okay, just blood. ...Read more
Depending on the extent of the biopsy, it can days to weeks for it to fully heal. Usually within 1-2 weeks, most individuals heal up without further bleeding. Additionally, you may have more bleeding if you are on your period.

No: During colposcopic cervical biopsy a small piece (about size of a Nerds candy) of the surface of the cervix is removed and usually medication is applied to prevent bleeding. So imagine if someone were to take scissor to cut off a small piece of your nose, then put pressure and medication to stop the bleeding. Then 3 days later someone punches your nose - bleeding is somewhat expected, right? ...Read more
I had a cervical biopsy 12 days ago had sex last night now my vagina sore and I have mild cramping do that mean I have an infection can I soak in tub?
Back to OB/GYN doc: Yes, it is probably ok to soak in a tub, but you should go back and see the physician who did the biopsy and discuss this with them. You might try calling first and perhaps this could be resolved over the phone. Good luck. ...Read more
Little if any: Most cervical biopsies are painless as there is little pain when you are cut deep inside the body as there are no nerves to feel the pain there. It is only cuts in the skin that hurt most. So I would not worry about pain from the cervix biopsy. ...Read more
Several: A smear / brush shouldn't hurt. A little local anesthetic is plenty for an incisional biopsy. A conization for attempted cure of preinvasive cancer is more but won't be nearly as annoying as a wisdom tooth and gives a strong likelihood of a cancer cure. Good luck, and I'm pleased that you are taking a proactive approach to your health. ...Read more
Not horrible: The cervical biopsy is a quick outpatient often in office test that removes a sample of the cervix. Some gyn offer a block making the biopsy painless. Afterward there will be minor craping, small amount of blood or bloody discharge and really that's about all. The doctor will also ask you to abstain from intercourse until the cervix is healed. Basically its all simple supportive care. ...Read more
The cervix and vaginal area produce mucus when irritated. This causes a discharge while healing occurs. The biopsy frequently causes some bleeding and this is stopped by applying a chemical to the cervix. The blood, or the chemical, or a combination of both can give you a colored discharge.
