Vaginal : Vaginal bleeding after sex is often caused by the friction of the penis rubbing against the cervix, so the bleeding is not surprising following your biopsy. However, the cramping and fever are much more concerning symptoms - especially lasting for almost a week. I'm concerned that you could have an infection. You should call your ob/gyne (or the doctor who performed the biopsy) right away. They may want to examine you to determine the cause of your symptoms so that you can have the right treatment. Good luck! ...Read more

Not likely!: With heavy bleeding and feeling dizzy you may have lost a lot of blood. You should call the doctor who did the procedure (there should be someone on call if not the person who did the biopsy) or have someone bring you to the emergency room. ...Read more

Why would: U let your doc do a procedure without asking him or her why ? I do not know any doc who would do that without a reason ! in my pts the reason i would do it and i would tell them the reason before hand , would be post menopausal bleeding, or too thick endometrium on a pelvic ultrasound, or endometrial cells seen on a pap, but my pt would know why and have the choice to refuse the bx. ...Read more

After biopsy: You can expect a little bleeding if you have intercourse during a week after a biopsy. Imagine a 2-3 mm piece cut from your skin. It'll heal fine even if it's disturbed, but during the first few days, you can expect some bleeding if something contacts it forcefully. I'm glad you had the biopsy. Best wishes. ...Read more

Get an exam: Depo-Provera is generally alright for most women but it is not recommended for women who have unexplained vaginal bleeding. Also irregular bleeding or spotting is a common side effect of the drug. I suggest you have a full exam by a gynecologist along with standard blood studies as soon as possible to rule out anemia to be on the safe side. ...Read more
