Still cramping/gassy 24hrs after colonoscopy w/biopsies of inflamed sigmoid. Now maroon blood w/thick (not watery) diarrhea. Blood doesn't seem heavy. Ok to just leave doc a message or is this urgent?

Call

Blood
It sounds likely okay with symptoms from the underlying condition (inflamed colon) as well as the procedure. However, not knowing more details, I would suggest calling to talk to the physician or team that is following you. Obviously, severe pain or more bleeding needs an ER visit.

I am very frustrated! my two yr old had a colonoscopy for abdominal cramping., what to do?

Question?

Abdomen
The search for a cause for abdominal pain in toddlers is complex and often frustrating for parents. I don't see a question to answer without more details. Your search for causes should start with a pediatrician who will sit down and listen long enough to hear your whole story. Possible causes include structural abnormalities, allergies, enzyme deficiencies, behavioral problems, and more.

Dr. Martin Raff answered:

i had a colonoscopy on tuesday am and have had diarreah, abdominal cramping, fever and headache since the procedure. Is this normal?

Absolutely not

Fever
You should call and go back to see the colonoscopist ASAP. This should not wait, because, although I cannot diagnose what you actually have, it sounds as if you have an infectious complication and that could become life-threatening quickly. Please do not wait. If the colononoscopist will not see you right away go to an emergency room.

Colonoscopy last week showed diverticulosis. Started using align and increased fiber. Still have cramping, now loose stools with leakage! ?

Change fiber

Diverticular_diseases
The fiber can be causing the symptoms. Try decreasing the dosage or changing fibers completely. Diverticulosis, other than the occasional bleed, is usually asymptomatic.

Diagnosed with IBS-C but now noticing mucus in stools i keep cramping after having small BMs should I ask for a colonoscopy? doctors keep saying no

IBS

Mucus_in_stool
is most often due to unbalanced messages from the lower brain that has become too reactive. It can indeed be associated with inflammatory bowel disease and justifies colonoscopy. Commonest cause of IBS is poor diet, particularly ALL forms of sugar

Dr. Eric Kaplan answered:

Had colonoscopy Friday having terrible bloating and cramping but no BM today. had constipation before test. I already drink lots of water & eat fiber?

Usually this

Colonoscopy
is due to pockets of gas trapped after the colonoscopy. With the bowel prep it is not unusual to go 2-3 days after a scope before you have a bowewl movement. Eat light meals until you do and sometimes warm tub soaks or a heating pad can help. IF you are running a fever call your endoscopist immediately.

Lower left back paint after 2 biopsies done during colonoscopy. Is this normal? Checking for crohns & collititus. Belly gurgling & cramping also there

Not necessarily

Crohns_disease
If biopsies were done, you can experience some pain if there has been a local inflammatory reaction if they were burned and cut out. If fever and chills are present you should go to the ER. Cramping and gurgling is common early on after the procedure.

LUQ pain, colonoscopy, blood work, stool cultures normal. Abdomen not tender. Colicky pain - feels like cramp you get after eating and exercising right away. New depressed.25 y/o F. Pancreatic cancer?

Not likely related

Cancer
Pancreatic cancer is extraordinarily unlikely in a 25 year old. Working with an internist and/or a gastroentrologist is important in figuring out what is wrong.
