No: The treatment and brushing for the cradle cap didn't cause any long term damage. Hair thickness is usually quite thin in infancy and gradually thickens based on inherited genetic factors as they age.The transition is gradual and takes YEARS. Be patient. ...Read more

I think my 3 month old has cradle cap. What can I do for it?

Dandruff shampoo: Cradle cap builds up when the old skin flakes of the scalp are anchored to the skin by skin oils that act like glue. Normal tear free baby shampoos do not have the chemicals needed to loosen these flakes.Application of dandruff shampoo, keeping it out of the eyes, will gradually help.Gently teasing the flakes loose with a cuticle brush speeds the process. ...Read more

My 4month old has had cradle cap since 3months. All home & over counter remedies have failed to help. What else can I do/use? Can our dr give anything

Hello there...I wanted to know if iscratch out my 2month old cradle cap will his hair grow back

Yes: Hair loss from removing cradle cap is temporary and it will grow back. But if hair is coming out with "scratching", i'm concerned you are scratching too hard. Best to massage scalp for several days with baby oil, then gently remove the scale with a brushing with baby brush. If that doesn't clear it up, shampoo scalp once a week with a tar based shampoo. ...Read more
