I have a rash on the palms of my hands for about 9 months now. It feels like something eating my skin and leaves them cracked sore and dry.?

If he is using that hand for routine work and coming in contact with something he is allergic to he can get skin inflammtion and irritation.
Try to avoid direct contact with some thing that is irritant, e.g. If detergent than wear Gloves, If gloves are the culprit than use Latex free glove.

Go see family doctor: You didn't describe what you were doing when this happened but assuming that you injured yourself, you need an x-ray to look for broken bone (s). Contact dermatitis: Probably coming from your ring. Your skin is probably sensitive to it. Now, moistuizers may help but Hydrocortisone cream will also heal the skin.
