Try taking a NSAID and if not helping your physician can prescribe stronger meds.Immobilization of the ribs is difficult and generally not helpful and potentially counterproductive( rib belts etc). Most important not to use a binder or ace wrap around chest as this impedes inhalation. Most common complications of rib fractures is pneumonia from not taking deep enough breaths.
